Do Stinger and Buzzcut Broadheads have the same ferrule?
« on: November 11, 2015, 10:13:00 AM »
Title pretty much explains it all, I have read yes they do and no they don't so I figured I'd ask the trad gang.  Thanks!

And just for fun if you want to discuss which blade is better go for it.  I doubt the outcome of any shot would be effected by using the buzzcut or stinger blade but hey maybe there is some difference.  I just recently picked up some buzzcuts.

Don't know about stinger vs buzzcut, but I do know that the 2-blade stinger and 4-blade stinger have different ferrules. Same main blade though. Call or email Magnus, and you will get a fast answer.

Hmmm still no consensus.  From a manufacturing standpoint it you'd think they'd use the same Ferrell...  From a buisness standpoint, since they're the same price I don't know why you'd make them different either.  I emailed mike, we'll see what he says.  I'm sure he's busy this time of year and I must say magnus is one of the rare stand up great companies out there these days.  They have always replaced damaged heads no questions in a very prompt fashion.  Great product at amazing value.

That's the feed back I received as well.  The ferrules are different in some slight way but may possibly be interchangeable.

OK from left to right...125 gr 2 blade, 125 gr 4 blade, 150 gr 4 blade and 150 gr 2 blade. The main blades in those 2 sizes are the same and interchangeable with the ferrule. You can see the size difference in the 125 vs 150...they make up weight in the size of the ferrule, the 150 is longer and a bit beefier to make up the weight. You cant use the 4 blade ferrule as a two blader. You can also see there is a difference in the ferrul between the 2 and 4 blade models. Have not messed with the 100 grainer models and lower but believe that they are size specific. Hope this helps....

Thanks for the pic and the description.  I knew the 4 blade and 2 blade had different ferrules.  And I have read that the 150 Grain has a larger ferrule but same blade as the 125 grain.  But I don't know what the specific difference is between the stinger broadhead and the buzzcut broadhead ferrule, but Mike did say that there is a difference.
