Woodsman - Being my 1st trad kill, I was quite impressed with a clean pass through at 18yds. Picture is cropped, but deer quartering away and arrow entered near the back leg and exited by the back rib. Notice my arrow with bright yellow wraps and bright orange fletching is not recognizable.

Nice pig , pounds ?

Your bow ,how many pounds , arrow ....give us some info [/b]
The hog weighed 272#, the bow is "Hope" from the st. Jude's auction. It's a Sarrells blue ridge sr, 54#@ 28", I draw about 27.5". 175 grn grizzly instincts on Douglas fir shafts from Surewood Steve.
I had the bow during it's time being passed around before the auction and was able to take this hog.
Oh, and I ended up with the high bid on the auction!

If I shot a 60# bow I would usually shoot a three blade head. I have killed many with three blades but with my bows being 50@28 and me only drawing them to 26.5" I am at about 46 pounds and the two blade heads give me more outlet holes.

That deer you shot through the front leg...did that hit bone? How did the broadhead hold up and was it reusable? What kind of penetration did you get and what were the bow specs, if you don't mind.

Awesome pics everybody. I just got my VPA's in the mail today. They are a little harder to sharpen than I thought they'd be, but I got them shaving hair and they seem to shoot good. May have to really test them in the morning.
