A few come to mind, in no particular order. "Fred Bear Field Notes", "Archer in Africa" by Bill Negley. "Ten Thousand Campfires and Bowhunting Alaska's Wild River" Jay Massey. I have not read Sagittarius so cannot comment on that one.

Anything by Jay Massey and Don Thomas.

Jay Campbell's book, "Longbow-a Hunting Life" was also a great read.

Glenn St. Charles" "Bows on the Little Delta" is a classic.

I really enjoyed "Fred Bear's Field Notes".  Even better if you watch the videos...the book tells the "rest of the story" that the "made for tv" videos don't.

Try out 'Ishi and Elvis' by Jim Hamm. Great story about reclaiming the land, self-bows, and a great deer. Setting is south Texas.

I learned to shoot 25 or so years ago by reading INSTINCTIVE ARCHERY by Fred Asbell so it is a favorite  I've read it many times since....

Not sure if you are asking about an educational book or historical.

Historical would for me be "Bows on the Little Delta"

Instructional would be one of Asbell's early books

I really like "The Adventures of Fred Bear", but Mr. Aspell knows a thing or two.

I was wondering the same thing. The ones that I've read that haven't been mentioned yet are:

Historical: Howard Hill's "Hunting the Hard Way"

Instructional: Asbell's "Stalking and Still Hunting"

All of the ones that have already been listed (and that I've read), are very entertaining and informative. And Fred Bear's "Field Notes" had me cracking up a couple of times...

Witchery of Archery and Hunting with the Bow & Arrow are my favorites.

The only instructional books I've read are Asbells, but they're fantastic.
