Noisy limbs.

Curious how many of you have experienced a creak/crack coming from your limbs while drawing? I have abow that does this with no visible signs of a source.
It renders the bow useless for shooting and hunting. The sound takes your focus and concentration away while practicing. Hunting, forget about it. No different than a creak of your stand or a snap of a twig under your foot.
I am about ready to throw this thing into my wood stove.

3-piece bow? If so, rub some string wax on riser where limbs meet riser.

one peice or take down? i had one that the creak was a sticky wax on the string pulling away from the limb on the draw. and one that creaked where the limbs joined the riser i used wax to quiet that.

Jeff,
Heck I think I would talk with the bowyer and see if anything can be done to resolve the problem. Heck he might even offer to replace the limbs for you.
Oh wait a minute is this the bow we are making the new limbs for? If so, we had you send it back and couldn't identify why it does that. So we decided to go ahead and build new limbs.

Had a three piece that was doing that. Called the maker and he said try some vasoline on the limb locator pins. Fixed it right up.

If it's not solved yet try a LIGHT application of Abu Garcia clear reel grease with a Qtip on the pins and limb/riser bearing surfaces. Also make sure you don't have any wax built up in your string grooves.
