Alone at the Range

Monday was a beautiful day alone at the Range... I love just getting out our beautiful public range.. You might not be able to see but there is an arrow directly in the center of the 10, 15, and 20 yard target. This is what it is all about getting out and enjoying yourself.

Congrats on having a public range, something to be proud of and to protect.
If we had a public range in NY those targets wouldn't last past the first afternoon they were placed. Unfortunately, we are rife with thieves. Besides we'd rather spend our tax money on keeping some
people happy and comfortable within the confines of their homes while others go out and provide.

Yeah. And they seem to change the targets out pretty frequently. I love it.

Yeah, what Izzy said! We have a State park about an hour southwest of me that has a range. About an hour due west of me the DWFP has a 3D range with an annual fee of 40 bucks. Not too bad.

I haven't been out there in a couple weeks. Those look like new targets.

They are!!!! They are beautiful and I was trying out my new wood arrows I made about a month ago which do not have that same problem I was having with my carbons of bouncing off the target lol! Those arrow really smack the target with authority.

I live about 5 miles from the archery club I belong to here in Michigan, Tomahawk Archers. If my schedule allows I often go out there right at daylight and walk at least half of the outdoor course. Very rarely is anyone else there. I can shoot and still be back at my desk between 8 and 9. Great practice and a great stress breaker.

So without high jacking thread it is interesting what is available to archers in their local areas.
Cheyenne has a club it is run mostly by compound shooters but very nice indoor range. 24hr access if a member all invited for 3d leagues and shoots. On the edge of town a city park with outdoor range much like one above. 25 miles to the west in a state park a very nice outdoor range in varying and challenging terrain. Opportunities abound for us we are blessed..O and least I forget roving for cowpies a target rich enviroment

From the topic line, I thought somebody was hunting the "Iron Range", alone!

Yep, it sure is sweet. I just got back from the public range that is about 10 minutes from me. No one there but me, being Saturday I reckon everybody was hunting. I was bonding with a new to me Zipper recurve I just got yesterday from Ron W.
