Bear Archery template
« on: November 26, 2015, 10:13:00 PM »
Hey guys. The form for my doe showed up the other day. It got me to thinking about how I would like to set this mount off. I'm really wanting to put it on a Bear plaque. I have a really cool idea in mind but I know I can never free hand the vintage Bear.

Any of you guys have a way to supersize the bear and print it off? Or maybe trace it off and find a way to use an old school overhead projector to impose the image onto poster board or something? I'm thinking it needs to be about  18-20" from the point of the shoulder down to the chest/belly and just let the length and legs be whatever measurement they come to as long as it's in scale. Wall space won't be an issue.

I don't know when we will get around to mounting it. Rachel has been covered up with deer coming in and I've been working my tail off trying to get her shop done. But I know that when I have an idea I have to strike while the iron is hot or I'll forget about it or get busy with other projects.

I'll be sure to post up some pics when it's done though. I'm looking forward to it.  And if someone can help me out with a template I'll be glad to reimburse you for time, materials, shipping or whatever.

And I hope this is ok to post. I really have no clue who else to ask for such a thing.

I can't help you out, but it sounds like a neat idea, and I'd like to see the finished product once you get it done!

I'm thinking you could go to Google images capture an image and print it off on some transparency paper, then do as you suggested - project it on a large piece of paper with an overhead projector and trace it.  You should still be able to buy some transparency paper at Office Depot or the like.  Or if you know of someone into graphics and they have a wide format printer/plotter you could print directly to paper?

I would probably try printing off one myself and taking that image to Kinko's or Office Depot or the like, and see if they can blow it up for you. Good luck, and let us know how it all works out for ya!

Some Kinko's have map size copiers that could work. You may have to enlarge the image a few times to get the size you want. It will become distored but the outline should be good enough to use.
