New McBroom 58 Mojo Recurve Review.
« on: December 22, 2015, 10:34:00 PM »
Hi everyone, I just got a New 58 Mojo Recurve built by McBroom Custom Bows. Brian McBroom is the owner and bowyer. He also is a Tradgang sponsor. I wanted a 50's style recurve and consulted with Brian for the build. 58" AMO and 45# @ 28". We went with Bocote riser and curly Maple limbs and black phenolic tips. I asked him to put on a black beaver tail grip for me and it came out great being the first time he's installed one. Brian is great to work with and very accommodating to the customer. Here is a picture of the bow.

I tuned the the bow the to my 55-60 spine 30" Douglas Fir arrows. This bow shoots them with authority. It feels like I am shooting a 50# bow performance wise. Brian told me this is due to the design of the limbs. The tips have a 7" power lamination built into the limbs to give it extra power. After warming up with the bow I got some great groups. Here are some pictures of my target. These were shot at 12 yards out.

Not bad huh? Overall I am pleased with the fit and finish of the bow. It is built like a tank and ready to hunt. It shoots where you look and draws smooth for a 58" Bow. If your looking for something different in a recurve bow contact Brian for more information. Thanks for looking at my review.

Great looking bow. I have a Mojo coming within the next couple of weeks. Brian is putting the finishing touches on it right now. Brian has been an absolute pleasure to work with. I'm extremely excited to shoot what he has created for me.

I had one.  Absolutely Awesome bow.  Extremely powerful.  The recurve tips are semi-static.  I think that is the best of both worlds.  All the benefits of the static with the power of a working recurve.  Brian really builds these to be hunted hard and they look it.  Just bomb proof.

In the end though I traded it cause the grip was just a bit bulky for my liking.  So I can highly recommend this bow but be sure to send Brian your hand size and tell him how you want the grip.

Hands down one of the best 50's style curves out there.

I had never heard of McBroom custom bows until they became a sponsor it always amazes me at how many talented craftsmen we have as bowyers to choose from
