Hello everyone!!!!  I just wanted to introduce myself.  I have been bowhunting on and off for the better part of 10 years, but really got back into it 3-4 years ago.

I live in Corpus Christi and Tejas Bowmen is my home club.

I have always been a compound shooter, but I have a couple good friends that only shoot trad and well, I got to watching everyone at our clubs 3-D shoots and noticed that by and large, the trad guys seemed t be having a whole lot more fun than everyone else.  So I bought a PSE stalker, shot it for a while, then sold it to a co-worker to get him into this sport. there I was back to my compound...then I started missing shooting a recurve.  So I poked around another bow hunting forum and found a cherry Fred Bear Kodiak Hunter for a reasonable price.  I love that bow!!!!!

Anyhow, I have made up my mind that I'm going to only shoot trad this upcoming 3-D season,  because my goal is to hunt with trad gear next year.  A good friend of mine talks about this website quite a bit, so I decided to join.  Take it easy on the newbie please   :D   !!!!!

That's all for now,
Jarrett

Welcome Jarrett.  Shooting stick and string is a lot of fun, or can be.  It is, however, a change in philosophy.  Enjoy the site.

Welcome, Jarrett! I hope you tap into the fun of trad archery.  You've found an elegant, under-appreciated sweet-shooter in that Kodiak Hunter.

I've adopted too many bows that needed a good home.

Kodiak Hunters are excellent general purpose hunting bows.  Many deer have died with those shooting Bear arrows.  For now, stick to one good flying set of arrows and one bow.  You can join the crazies that insulate their bed rooms walls with bows down the road.  I have a cold spot on my north wall that needs a little coverage.
