TRAIL CAM PICS 2016
« on: January 01, 2016, 12:45:00 PM »
Please post your Trail cam pics for 2016 on this thread so we will have an easy way to find them all.

And if yall see someone post a pic on a different thread, please encourage them to post on this thread as well.  This year I am going to start archiving the years past along with several other annual threads....such as Bear Quests etc.

Thanks.....

I planned on Checking mine today but I had a conflict with my bed this morning after last evening's affairs.

I'll surely get it tomorrow but with a  recent weather change, I'm not overly confident I'll have much to share.
Relax,

Set mine out yesterday. according to the tracks in the snow, I was hunting the best spot on the farm this year although I did not see any deer really.

These two pics are of several bucks in my front yard. A longish shot from my front porch. We knew they were around but never saw them during daylight in season. Those are our house lights in the background...about 40-45 yards.

I had several close encounters with this guy.  Just never close enough.  Glad to see he will be around next year.

Bucknut he has proven to be extremely wary. I've never seen him and have other pics of him. This is right near my house and I spend a lot of time driving around watching bean fields trying to spot the bucks in the area.  This one has managed to stay off the radar. Just goes to show you how reclusive those big bucks can be.

Yep, They don't get to be that big by being dumb. They sure like to prove it to ya too!  Got an 8 pt that is a booner we just found sheds from that has given me the slip for a couple years.  Ghosts!

If any of you remember, I posted a question about deer mange last year. Out of a small herd that live out back only one appeared to be infected and looked terrible. I looked for the expected carcass all through spring until the ticks and mosquitos wore me out and never found it.

For the last couple weeks there have been 3 coyotes in the backwoods, howling every night and I think they pushed the deer back up to the houses. Lo and behold, the deer on the right in these pics looks to be the old mangy doe in pretty good condition. I never imagined that wild animals recovered from mange but this looks to be the case.
