Those are some awesome deer Charlie, looks very promising for this fall. Sure hope you get to see them running around and looking forward to the hard horn picks.

KS, I have 4 or 5 days to hunt the aforementioned deer.  

The rest of the time I will be here in NY chasing pressured deer on Public land.  My first day strategy has just been thwarted by an untimely home inspection for the house we are trying to sell.

Well, it looks like Momma came to see about some corn last night...
 

...she also tried to wreck the galvanized trash can holding the corn. I have a screen door spring with "S" hooks on each end to secure the top. She did manage to get most of the corn but didn't get the top off...
 

 

 I noticed the disturbance this morning looking out of the kitchen window and went to investigate. Of course both dogs came along. It seems that Momma also found and dug up a yellow jacket nest. Maggie, our new pup found the bees first and took off up through the woods,then Lucy our 13 year old choc lab got hit. That's when I saw the 1' diameter hole with yellow jackets boiling out that the bear had excavated. Fortunately I was far enough away as to not get stung. A had to wait about an hour for them to calm down before retrieving the memory card from the camera.

A buddy and I hung his Cudde and my Reconyx cameras 1 inch apart (one above the other) on the same tree to do a comparison of the two cameras.  His Cudde got one picture and the Reconyx got three pictures of him as he walked by.  May or may not be useful comparison for whatever it's worth...

Nice  buck there Creekwood.  It looks like he is walking on a cow trail.

I think the cuddeback picture is more clear than the reconyx but I guess you would have to compare more than one instance.  

Is that a fence line?  Kind of looks like a  fence post in the background, perhaps on an old road along a gulley?  It reminds me of my family farm in southern WI.

Charlie: That picture was taken at a spot between two fields and the fence line at one time had a gate attached to the gate post that you can see.  If you travel about 20 miles straight east and crossed the Mississippi River you would be in Wisconsin so no wonder it reminds you of your family farm.      As far as camera clarity, the two seem to be on equal footing.  The thing about the Cudde is that it is soooo slow even though it is on the fastest trigger setting.  This test was done to show what the Cudde was missing, which turned out to be turkeys, squirrels, coyotes and many deer that the Reconyx caught but simply no pics of existed on the Cudde.  It sounds like I might have a vested interest in Reconyx but I don't.  Also, the camera is manufactured and serviced in Holmen, Wisconsin which is located about 90 miles north of where the camera is being used. You are right that more than just one instance needs to be used for comparison of quality.  I am adding another pic that was taken with the same camera and most of the conditions for a good picture were met.

Thanks John,  I would agree that it is better to have faster trigger speed to capture moving animals.  I think your test illustrates that the reconyx is superior well.

The above pictured Buck has great mass for a  relatively young deer.  he'd be a "slammer" out here in NY

Been geting some great pictures at this location but may end up moving the cameras. I'm hopefully going to talk to a landowner who is looking for someone to hunt some of there deer and my wife's boss told them that he knew I would be interested in doing some hunting.

otter's travel a LONG ways between body's of water that's for sure. that's was my favorite animal to trap years ago.
