We'll see.  The hogs are pretty random, but I am hopeful that the turkeys will hold on the property until the season starts.

Since it's less than 2 1/2 months from deer season. I thought I would bring this back up to the top. Gonna check my cameras next week. So hopefully I'll have some to post.

This feller should be 4 this year. He was an even 8 2yrs ago, but grew another point last year. Now he's got some stickers.

They are just the ones here around house. Figure they will have another 5-6 weeks of growing too. I have been keeping track of them with a spotting scope as well. Southern Iowa knows how to grow em!!

I seen one buck that's truly abnormally big, a non-typical. But I can not get him on camera. He appears just before dark most evenings at the edge of my soybeans. What I find interesting, where he enters the field, no other deer but him emerges from the wood line there. And another thing about him, if he even hears the faint sound of a vehicle, he returns inside the wood line.

Zwicky fever that is interesting. There is a big non-typical living near me now. He's over 200 inches. He lives in a small patch of woods surrounded by flat ag land with no other woods nearby for a few miles. I can hunt there but a guy I know does. He's got his sheds from last year and found them again this spring. We have spent countless hours this past summer and fall just trying to get a glimpse of him and neither one of us has laid eyes on him nor has anyone else in the area as far as we know.

I could not guess how many inches he will be. I just know that he has grown significantly the last month. The Albia Buck was taken close to my property what makes me believe that this buck is from his blood line some how. They don't get that big from making dumb moves. I have been making notes of every time that I see him, wind direction, moon phase, temperature and where and when he enters the field. He stays to himself for the most part.

This from this morning.Back in Dec.,I had a bobcat trap set at the base of the big tree. The trap is no longer there but there no doubt is some lingering lure odor and some droppings at the base of the tree. The prevailing wind is usually from the South (right to left). At some point he must have caught the wind and turned back.

The wind usually would be coming from right to left. Now he caught the wind.

Has his nose on it.

Now he's worked up,grinding his cheek and neck in to it.

Just remembered he had places to go.
