scratches in clear glass
«
on:

Recently, I got a few scratches in the clear glass on my Thunderchild and was wondering if anyone knows how to make them go away...or appear to.
I now it's only cosmetic, and some say these add character, but I would like it to look good.

I don't know if this the right way but I put some scratches in one of mine, I used minwax urethane. What I did was sprayed a little on my finger and just kept rubbing it in. The scratches went away and you really have to look close to see different coloration if you didn't know it you wouldn't see it. I also would check with Big Jim first before you try anything.

I'd start with automotive grade swirl and scratch remover and see if that doesn't get you the results you desire.

Irv, you may want to post this in the Trad/History forum. A lot of restoration, repair knowledge there!
Also bowyers forum, too.

check with big Jim first before trying anything synthetic to be sure it doesn't void warranty or conflict with the finish that's already on it.
