I learned how sweet it is to kill one with your own bow on Saturday (see the El Cheapo thread).  It is definitely one of the biggest thrills around!  Congrats to him and to you for your fine mentoring on building a "purty" stick.

Ahh crap Coop sorry to hear about your back. Hope the surgery went well. I've thrown my back out twice in recent years and have nothing but sympathy for people with real back problems. Get better soon.

Thanks Brian will do.

Great looking bow! I've got a question, how do y'all get those tip overlays feathered so smothly? It looks almost as if they are painted on and just vanish into the limb glass!

Well, Alan did it again, his second Ohio whitetail. He is pretty deadly with this new stick! Congrats Alan, way to go!

Razor, for the overlays, we use a small, fine file in a circular motion and once you have them the way you want, finish with various grits of sandpaper.

I finally saw some decent bucks during daylight hours in Guernsey County last weekend. Found a few fresh scrapes and rubs before heading home on Sunday. I think the next week or two will be fun. I passed on two younger bucks at under 15 yards Saturday morning and I should have killed a doe Sunday evening...

My brother and nephew are heading back with me this weekend. As it stands now, we plan to hunt Sat, Sun & Mon. I don't have a camp on my place yet so we'll be staying at the Super 8 in Cambridge. We have room for you, let me know what day(s) you are coming. Or let's plan something for the following week/weekend...
