Dryad and Elite Archery partner on a new bow the ORIGIN
« on: January 13, 2016, 06:14:00 PM »
Well we were finally able to let the cat out of the bag at the ATA show last week.  After nearly 3 years of working together we now have a top end aluminum riser hunting bow named the Origin.

This is awesome, I have heard some rumbling about this bow but haven't seen any real info on it. I LOVE the Elite company....great folks from previous expieriences with them. Glad to see that they are doing a traditional bow......and kicking some Dryad limbs none the less.

Wingnut, can you give us a little more info such as price, and the limbs? I have heard that it was ILF, then I heard it wasn't. Maybe a close up of the riser. Very interested in this bow.

Also, really glad to see that a compound company, decided to partner with a great trad company for there first recurve......I hope this bow does well.
God Bless

We are very proud of this bow.  We spent the time and did it right.  It is designed as a "package bow" to be sold mostly through the Elite dealer network.  It uses ILF hardware to gain the adjustability but is matched only to the limbs we are providing.  Limbs are a super curve like out ACS-RC but without the ACS.  Bow length for this year is limited to 62" and is offered from 35 to 55 in five pound increments.

MSRP is $1249 for the black and $1299 for any of the camo options.

We know the bow is not for everyone but it will meet the needs of many people looking for a high end option in the Hunting and 3D market.

The one thing I noticed working the shooting lanes for 3 days was the dang thing is selfbow quiet.

"It uses ILF hardware to gain the adjustability but is matched only to the limbs we are providing"
Why not just make it totally ILF
I was excitied when I first heard about the bow but than after learning that its not ILF really changed my mind of wanting to get one
I'm sure it will still do well

Like I said the bow is not for everyone but what bow is?  When you build ILF compatible risers and limbs you live in a world of compromise. Having to build limbs to work on all risers and risers to work with all limbs makes it impossible to optimize performance.  With this bow we got the adjustability of the ILF and the optimized performance of a bolt down bow.

So think of it as a bolt down with adjustability for tiller and poundage.

We'll see how well it does but it hit square in the middle of our target for quality, performance and quiet.

Mike
that is pretty cool.

Maybe I will catch a used one some day.  I think you're going to have a lot of success with this combination.

Mike-
Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions.  So are the limbs designed to be bolted tight?  I would assume that if it differs from a standard bolt down and ILF then there will be a little bit of a learning curve.

The bow was tested at AMO standard 9 gpp @ 30" draw and shot a bit over 200 fps.

The threaded collar on the limb can be snugged down and locked with the locking screw.  The limbs will not be tight against the bow.  It adjusts for tiller like any ILF bow.  The riser also has lateral limb adjustment if it's necessary.

Sight mounting holes for those that want them and integrated Elite quiver mounts.

I bet it is a smooth shooter, those limbs and riser look great. Well done Mike and crew, I hope I see one at a shoot somewhere so I can try it out.
