Northern Mist called today..... photos- Now a short test drive
« on: January 13, 2016, 07:24:00 PM »
Steve called me today and said my dual shelf Whisper was done and will ship on Friday. Sounds like his move has been good for him and he is working hard to catch up with the backlog. I can't wait to try this unique bow out. Dual shelf on the same side, you turn it over to change hands. I'm excited..........

I'm looking forward to getting it, mine got delayed due to the move but it should be worth the extra wait. Steve seems to be adjusting well in the south.

Very interesting.  That would be an equal tiller bow.  I imagine the grip would be either a straight or a centered dish.  It would perhaps be possible to use his shaped grip with the thumb rest, but in a symmetrical version, as well.

Sounds nice, Ron. Can't wait to see it.

I too would like to try a dual shelf bow. Having it on a Northern Mist would be doubly good!

Steve made the bow totally symmetrical, straight grip, even tiller and the center of the bow is the center of the grip. 66", Birdseye Maple riser and all Elm limbs. I wanted all native hardwoods in this bow. The Whisper is a reverse handle model.

My new Whisper came today......it's really neat. Dual shelf but on the same side, you just flip it over. Birdseye maple and Elm, should have a photo or two shortly. If it wasn't a zero wind chill outside I'd be slinging arrows right now.

Steve said if they are on the same side he can keep things closer to center shot. One on either side you need some thickness in the middle for strength. I have a couple of dual shelf bows.....I'm trying to keep myself balanced buy shooting both sides. Plus it really has folks scratching their heads when you change sides right in the middle of a 3-D.......on some targets it pays off with a better angle.
