Well I am sitting here in the truck waiting for my brother. He took me out to one of his spots today that is a friend of ours. He hunted a stand yesterday that was in a large oak tree on the corner of a big pond. It was evident that the deer were going around this sharp corner and I got sat up and began to wait. It wasn't long and I see movement. It's a buck coming for the corner.
He passes by at about 8 yards.
I took video of him going by which was pretty neat with the spitting snow going sideways in the wind. After he passed I sat down a minute and not long after I saw another deer headed for my corner. At that point I stand up take the Morrison off the hanger and hope it's not a button buck. The deer gets to about 30 yards and I can tell its skull is bumpless. She is quickly in range and as she walked by I sent a carbon express 150 her way. The hit was a tad high but I could see a bunch of blood surrounding the arrow stuck in the ground.
She ran about 80 yards and I got to witness her tump over. I texted my bro and he said he wasn't feeling it at his spot so I told him to come on back to the stand he put me in.
I gathered up my prize and gear and am sitting here in the truck hoping good luck for him. Fingers are getting cold so I'm keeping this short. Our Kentucky season ends tomorrow. It's been a great year.
