I have had good luck with a Waldrop-Pack Seat.

I just went through this myself. I am a huge fan of Millennium seats covered in the link provided. Very comfortable, versatile and a bow holder can be added. This seat is worth every penny.

Just picked this up; hunted twice with it. Integral 2000 cubic inch pack, adjustable recline, pretty quiet and plenty comfortable. I use my Millenium tree seat as a semi-permanent and this for "run and gun".

I really like my hammock seat.  I can sit for hours without getting uncomfortable and its very compact for easy carry.

Good post, reminds me I have to make a seat/stool to hunt this swamp by my house. Ground is wet and a regular stool sinks in. Im gonna start on it this week.

I use a 5 gallon bucket with a padded lid.  Get a tool bucket pouch from the hardware store to put calls knives saws etc in.  Then I have a seat pad with a self supporting back to sit on top of it.  Works real well and I can store all of my burlap and para cord in it for making blinds.  Rig a shotgun sling and it carries well.

The best ones I have are homemade. I buy a padded swivel boat seat at the outdoor store, and then fabricate my own base with some 1/4' plate, and square tubing.

I'm a big fan of the Huntmore stool. It's comfortable, quiet and built like a tank. I hunt primarily in the Missouri Ozarks where there isn't a flat piece of ground bigger than a postage stamp. The big duck feet and infinitely adjustable legs on the Huntmore make setting this chair up comfortably a breeze.

Here are the reviews I did on this stool

I like the swivel boat seat idea.  I just need to figure out a base that has adjustable legs.  I hunt a lot of sloping terrain and need that option.

I really like the hammock seat - I made some modifications to mine to make it quieter.

Another vote for the Waldrop pac-seat.  I have been very impressed with it versatility. It rides on the back great.  Allows you to sit in brush, or lean against a tree, and adjust for roots. I have all but abandoned my tree stands since I got it.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

I have a bad lower back, so finding a great chair was very important to me. The Millennium G100 is awesome, but pricy. I bought one last year for antelope blind hunting. I spent up to nine hours in one sit and was not uncomfortable.

I used the 5 gallon bucket a lot. Never liked to carry my bow in one hand and the bucket in the other. Im very embarresed that I never thought of the sling idea. Im going back to the bucket. Only this time Im going to use a taller bucket with a modified lid for more butt area.

If you ever tried the G100, you'd use that bucket for trash. :)

I agree with longbow fanatic 1.

We hunted together for antelope and he could sit a lot longer than anyone I know.

I need to buy one.(Millenium G 100)

Pricey, but lightweight and a really great seat.
