No words , he kept telling me he was going to move here to Tx. And be my neighbour....

He would call me the HogFather and always get a laugh out of me.....

RIP Brother......

Tragic doesn't seem like a strong enough word. Though I never even so much as exchanged PM's with him, I consider him a brother twice over (as a traditional bowhunter and as a Law Enforcement Officer). I always enjoyed reading his posts and I know that he must be an awesome person to be held in such high regard by so many respected people.

Prayers for those whose lives are changed forever by this loss.

Totally outside the realm of understanding. I've thought about this for some time and have not posted anything......until now. Only last week did Izzy offer up his Lin Rhea knife on the classifieds. I made contact with him and purchased his knife. It was received only last Friday. Emails were exchanged and Izzy told me he was glad I had the knife and wished me good hunting this fall and hoped that the knife would be special to me. I'm still struggling with the events of this day.
May God bless Israel Roman, his family and survivors and may God bless each and every Trad Gang member in this time of our corporate loss.

Well said.
We are heading back down to Wild Things in 2 weeks.  We'll raise a glass and have a fire at the old camp in Izzy's memory.

"Sad" is totally inadequate.  May God bless his son.
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

I don't know him except through his posts, but he was a kindred spirit, so I pray for him, and for peace and healing for his son and others who may have been affected by this tragedy.  God is love and love is God, and I thank God every morning for all the love he has shared with me, and is there for all who seek it.

when my phone was blowing up today at work, I knew something was wrong.

I'm at a loss and am still in shock.

Izzy was a Great Family Man who loved his wife and kids PERIOD, no matter what ANYONE says!

Prayers for his Oldest son.  When the time is right, I want to help.

Rest in Peace Izzy for you, your wife and youngest. You will be missed and have always stood up for right no matter how unpopular the decision and how dangerous.  As Ron Mentioned, there have been times we didn't see eye to eye but I always admired him and took life lessons where they were given.

One hunting trip we shared together in the Adirondacks, we left early and he raced me home because I became ill. I will never forget.

Farewell, until we meet again at the eternal campfire.
Relax,

You'll live longer!

Thanks for telling me about this Ray. My breath sucked in noticeably and I had to walk away for a few minutes.

Izzy was a nice young man. I pray for his son and can only hope he can get the love and support he'll be needing. So very sad.

Ric O'Shay (Danny), I'm glad you have the knife. Use it in good health and may it serve you well. Holler at me sometime.

What a loss of life and love.  Never met him but enjoyed his posts...  Please give his son the strength to continue and make his parents and little brother proud.

God Bless.
