Who's got pics of yew and wenge together?
« on: February 11, 2016, 03:19:00 PM »
Just talk to Allen Boice at Liberty Bows!  Ordered a Chief 64" 45@28.  Now the four week wait.

Ordered all yew limbs with wenge riser and overlays.  Anyone have pics showing that wood combo to hold me over?  Input and pics of Liberty Bows, and the Chief in particular, also appreciated.

Thanks!

Excellent choice.  My Chief has a Cocobolo riser and bamboo lams with myrtle veneers.  Can see it in the classifieds if you want.  If it were only 8-10# lighter, like the one you're getting, I wouldn't be selling it.  One of my all-timefavorite bows.

I do have a Green Mountain with yew lams and what I think is Macassar Ebony (not quite as dark as Wenge).  Very nice color combination, I think. Unfortunately, don't know how to post pix.

Jerry, your Chief was one of the influences on my order.  Along with NBK.  I've owned a Contender and know what great work Allen does.  Can't wait!

No worries you will like it. Allen builds a fine bow and his integrity is the best.

Congratulations on your Chief!  Allen is the best.  I have some yew on one of mine that will help make this one long month...     I'll post some photos in the morning.  The wenge will go great with that.  Look forward to seeing your bow when you get it.

Best regards, Chase

Here are a few of the yew on my bow.  Yew core in this one as well, and overlays, along with a myrtle riser.  It sounds like you have the perfect bow on the way.  I love the 64" length myself.  Come to think of it, I don't have a 64" Chief...  Maybe I should call Allen?  Not a chance right now though; the Sheriff of Nottingham is about to kick me in the shin with a big tax bill.  That said, I'll be living through you on this one! Keep us updated, and have a great weekend.
