Our family farm is in Osage county and it's sad to hear that this may be a bigger problem in the future. I still think to this day that the MDC is the best out there and they're doing the right thing with their changes in regulations.
I just hope hunters in those counties follow up and do the right thing and get their kills tested.
It's a shame because since the MDC instituted the 4-pt rule, we've been seeing more 8-12pt bucks than we've ever seen. 4-pt rule is out the window in the CWD areas. The last time I was able to head home to hunt a couple years ago, in 1 week, I saw 12 different 8 and 10 point bucks.
Last year my uncle killed the biggest deer on the property since we've owned it in the 70s. 230lb 12-pt. He was a beast.
We'll be doing our part to max out tags to help prevent spread. Unfortuntely, that's about all we can do
