Bow comparison question
« on: February 19, 2016, 04:20:00 PM »
I know it will come down ultimately to personal preference but I would like to hear some pros and cons on the following bows. Toelke Chinook, Holmmade River Runner, And the Wapiti Raghorn.

Thanks for your insight

I've got a pile of chinooks and have held and looked at a river runner.  Both really great bows.  All pros with both, no cons I can think of. I've got no experience with the Wapiti.

I'd grab the first river runner or chinook I saw in specs that I liked, doubt you would be disappointed.

I agree with the above statements though I must point out that the biggest difference I see is the craftsmanship and finish work on the Toelke or Holm will far exceed that on a Wapiti.  Wapitis are good down home hunting bows and will get the job done, have nice lines but a Toelke or Holm elevates the tool to functional art.  Just saying.  Chinook is still the quietest recurve I've shot hands down, rivaled by perhaps only a Stalker static or Caribow Tuktu.

I've had both the Chinook and River Runner. I don't see how you could go wrong with either bow but the big pro for the River Runner is you can save a couple hundred dollars .
