Black Phenolic & What???
« on: February 24, 2016, 12:49:00 PM »
Okay, what would be your choice of wood, other than bocote, to go with black phenolic in a riser? Post pics if you"ve got'em. Thanks

I've never seen it, but I currently have a Stalker Coyote FXT on order with phenolic in the center and claro walnut on the outsides. I think it's going to look fantastic.

I'm partial to a lighter wood also. Think one of the maples would look awesome.

For something complimentary I think any dark wood with a lot of (black grain) would be nice.I think black grain would compliment the Phenolic.MaCassor Ebony,Coco Bolo,Ziricote, Wenge.Bacote with a lot of dark grain.Black and White ebony.

I agree that Snakewood and Leopard wood would be good as well.

For contrast in a lighter color something like Tulipwood would look really nice.Tulipwood looks great with black.Tulip wood veneers would look great with that riser setup.
