Congrats Corey.  This is the hardest hunter I know guys and when he puts his mind to something, an animal is in a world of trouble.

Not sure how many people caught it but he drove 24 hours IN JULY over a long weekend to put out a couple of cameras and stash a couple of Loc-ons to hunt in September.  He's a beast!

Congrats. I'm always amazed how those rascals can navigate black timber.

Was all the meat still good?  I have heard elk are so large that the meat begins to spoil around the bones quickly if they are not quickly cooled?  I'm not being smart, just asking because I would have been going crazy wanting to trail that beast over the night!

The meat was fine. It was tough to wait that long, the only reason I did was because his leg was back when I shot so I didn't want to chance losing him by trailing too soon. If I had waited for his leg to move forward he would have been out of the last opening I had .
