I am currently shooting. "Blacktail Sitka " Cocobola/myrtle woods, 52# @ 28". Arrows most of the time are aluminum 2216's, with a Zwickey " no mercy " on the business end. I also shoot cedar shafts on occasions. A " Steven Catts " side quiver is used when stump shooting. Great Northern strap on quiver used for hunting. A seal skin (hard to get ) rest along with " muskrat " silencers completes my setup. At 7.5" brace height she is quiet and deadly!

Currently, HHA Wesley Special. Doug fir arrows with 160 grain Hill heads on them. Quiver by Soap Creek.
Still working on picking up a self bow, so it may change, but even if I do - I know there'll be situations that I'll prefer having my Wesley with me.

lets hear about some more set ups, fellas.

Shooting a 35/55 our of a #71 bow seems crazy, but if it works, it work!

Fedora Extreme 62" 55# @ 28.  I pull to 31.  Never measured, but I would expect the poundage at my draw length to be in the low to mid 60s.

Picked this up used on tradgang a couple of years ago.  I've always wanted a fedora ever since I saw an interview with them in a magazine when I was a kid.  I modified the grip to fit my hand better and wrapped it in beaver tail from big jim.

I shoot full length Carbon Express Heritage 350s.  125 grain Magnus Stinger.  Standard insert with 70 additional grains of screw in weights behind.  Final arrow weighs 625 grains.

I've got a pile. I draw right at 29" and arrows are 30" bop.  All have SBD strings, and Thunderhorn quivers.
1. 58" Toelke Chinook T/D, 51@28, 80-85 Surewood with 145gr. Broadhead.
2. 60" Toelke Chinook, marked 44 but pulls close to #50 at my draw length.  GT5575 with 250 grain point.
3. 60" Griffin T/D, 47@28, 65-70 Surewood with 160 grain point.
4.64" Mohawk Longbow, 52@28, 65-70 Surewood, 160 grain broadhead.

Almost all have a wood, carbon, or aluminum arrow option tuned and ready to go.  All set up subject to change at my whim.

60" Tall Tines 55#@28"  Shooting 70/75 Douglas Fir with 190 Grizzly SB.

60" Blacktail 53#@28"  Shooting 62/63 Sitka Spruce
with 160 grn Stos. CE150 with extra weight up front works also.

62" Tall Tines 51#@28"  Waiting patiently for some 65/70 Douglas Fir.

My arrows are all about 29" give or take.

An embarrassment of riches. I really like all three of these bows.

I'm currently shooting a Hoyt Dorado, 55# @ 28'' with a 29'' draw.

I'm shooting black Axis 340's with 75 grain inserts and 150 grain stingers on the end.

However, I just ordered a new Widow PCH X, 53# @ 28'', so I'm hoping to be shooting that ASAP!

I'm going to be shooting 340's out of it as well, but I may have to play with the tip weight a bit.

Standard hunting arrows (875 grain)
Surewood Douglas Fir #95-100 shafts
235 grain Grizzly Kodiak broadheads
3x 5" Trueflight feathers

Serious Buffalo hunting arrows (1030 grains)
Forrester Red Balau #110 shafts
235 grain Grizzly + 75 grain Woody Weight (310 grains)
3x 5" Trueflight

My play-time or form bow
Blackwidow PLX longbow, 55lb @ 28"
Normal arrows (660 grains)
Surewood Douglas Fir #70-75 shafts

Both shoot way better that I can, but I really REALLY enjoy using them.. Do shoot the 75 much better though.
Good hunting to you all.

I am one of those crazy people who like recurves and longbows.  So, right now I am in a transition to recurve from shooting longbows last year.  My transition bow is a 60" 58# Maddog 50's style recurve with walnut riser and maple limbs.  It is a great 'tweener bow.  I am shooting 29" 65# hickory shafts with 125 grain field tips.

Following my shoulder surgery, things have gone better than expected. I am back shooting my regular bows again. I am trying to work in a new Northern Mist Shelton in yew. It is 68" long and pulls 53# at 28". I only pull 25", so it likes light arrows. I prefer long arrows, so 29" cedar with 50/55 spine and 125 grain points are working pretty well. I am also working with 55/60 spine fir shafts and can't quite decide which I like better.

I use mainly 3 set up:
A "short" and light poundage recurve: either Toelke lynx recurve  60"  or caribow  tuktu EX 62" 57-58# @31" for winter / mountain hunting in my country as well TS/ small blind use. Arrow is full length GT velocity .340 or beman pro hunter + 50 gr brass insert 280-300 gr BH in the 650 gr range.
Works quite fine

African plains game set up ( i am unfortunately an african hunting addict) 64" border black Douglas 61-62# with .300 either beman pro hunter + 300 gr BH (660 gr) or now black eagle deep impact with steel outsert and 300 gr BH (730 gr)

Big game set up as i wish to give a try to this, Is border black Douglas 64" 67# easton .250 axis 500 gr total point including 300 gr tuffhead for 940 gr arrow. Sorry no pics at this time
