I am shooting a 56" Fox Archery High Sierra recurve 64# at 30 inches and 80-85# cedar arrows by AllWoodArows.com with the 150 grain Grizzly Bruin heads for both deer and elk.  As long as I can hit a 5" circle with 10 out of 10 arrows at 20 yards I will keep shooting cedar arrows.  Wood is good!

Best Regards,
JMC
My best friend is my dog,
my best bow is my Bear Cheyenne.

Tough to choose since I bounce back and forth between two, but my favorite is my 62# Abbott longbow. Shooting 31" GT Trads 3555 with 200 grain Grizzlies. I was surprised that that spine flew so well out of a bow of that draw weight, but they fly like darts.

For the past month I have strictly been shooting my widow PCHX  58" 57#@27. Broke down and put a clicker on it and have been working on my shot as of late. Arrows are Easton aftermaths with 300gr upfront and fletched with four 3" parabolics

Well I have it narrowed down to 3 different bows and several different arrow set ups. My two main hunting bows are my Shrew Classic Hunter 54" and [email protected]" and my Bear Super K 60" and 50@28. However this year I am going to try my Huron Longbow 64" and [email protected] I shoot this bow the best I am just having a hard time getting used to using such a long bow in my hunting style.

My arrow set ups are all full length and are as follows;

GT 35/55 with 175grn up front using Wensel Woodsmen or Grizzly single bevel s.

GT 55/75 with 250 and 300grn up front using Wensel Woodsmen or Grizzly single.

Cedar arrows 60/65 spine 225grn up front using Woody Weights and Wensel Woodsmens.
For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

My go to at the moment is a  Schafer Silvertip.66#@28. Goes a tad over 70# at my draw length.

Arrows are 31 inch POC with purple heart footings, and a 150 grain Grizzly on the business end.

Total arrow weight is +- 700g and 18% FOC

Works a treat for me...

Bob Lee Bicentenial, 62" recurve, 54# @ 28", Gold Tip Black Label with Zwickey Eskilite broadheads, 4" Gateway feathers, Rick Barbee string (bought several while he was still making them), Barbee Death Adder Tab, and Selway bolt on quiver. The Black Labels are a new edition for me this year. They perform pretty darn good so far.

I have a lot of confidence in my setup. I think that that is critical (along with a little luck and skill) to being successful in the woods. Not saying it's the best setup but it's the best for me. There's so many good bows/setups out there. Kinda glad I don't have unlimited income because I would probably spend all my time and money trying different equipment. Oh yeah, Old Man climbing stands and Marine Pattern Fatigues work great.
