I had an Elkheart that I just sold. Mine was 54", 2 piece bow bolt t/d and I have a 28" draw. Fantastic bow. Smooth and plenty quick.
I'm sold on this style/size of bow and now after having test driven one, have a Toelke Pika 54" that should be ready any day.
No matter where you go; There you are.......

Toelke Lynx RC 58", 51@28”

All the bows you mentioned are great bows.  You will not notice any difference in "performance" between longbows or recurves.

Enjoy.

Back to your original question. I have shot both recurves and longbows. I have to say that my Whip with the 8 strand string that Dan makes gives up nothing to any recurve that I have.

What about a Treadway Black forest compared to the Whip, Pika, Elkheart, And Thunderchild. The Black forest is 56" 55 @28 which is what I would want the other bows to be around.

M Beach
Nineworlds will hopefully jump in. That man has them bows and is very knowledgeable. I've got a pika t/d & treadways black swamp. Amazing bows! Mikes bow is 60". Screams an arrow at 45@28. Really really amazing bow. Limbs are wider so it's a bit softer. Now my pika in all fairness is the 54" model. Can't really compare because it's so much shorter. The limb core is thick and narrow. That screams an arrow as well, its 47#@27". Also have two of Maddogs, very underrated bows!I don't have the other bows or shot the others that your interested. I've owned javamans Eros. Little recurve. That was a little bad ass. I sold it because I like the R/d longbows.  I don't use a stringer. The other bows you've mentioned have great reviews. Try one from the classifieds. Much cheaper than buying new than selling and taking a huge loss. Or ask around at a shoot to see who has one so you try it out. I like pika grip better than my treadway.  But both shoot fantastic. Next week I'll be getting a lil slammer. This one I'm sure is going to be The bow!!.... That's what I said several bows ago to! Enjoy the journey.
