HH bug got me ... Part One!

I did it about the time that Rob was contemplating the same project.  It is 52#@27", cocobolo riser, pau ferro handle overlays and tips and it has the carbon strip under black glass on the back.

Ok guys help clarify something for me.  In the past when tuning my recurves and RD bows if the arrow was a little stiff I could raise the BH to get the arrow to act weaker.  I was reading David Millers book and he states for a Hill bow to lower the BH if the arrow is stiff.  Have yall found this to be true?

I love it!!! Been shooting 2219's with 300g on the front. I never would have thought that but the bare shaft perfect so, I'm going with itk.

Lower would make more sense... longer stroke=more power=needs greaters spine

For a right hander, raising the brace height will move the arrow impact to the right, effectively the same as weakening the spine.  Conversely, lowering the brace height will move the impact point to the left. It's a pretty effective way to fine tune and essentially is the same as changing the side plate.

That sounds cool Ron, I remember one that Turay did a few years back that had red glass on it, It was really sweet looking.

At first I was thinking red on the back and aged white on the belly but then I thought this other combination would be better for a hunting bow..    :cool:

My local shop as  2 hill bows. one straight grip and a locater grip.  IDK how you guess use them that straight grip is EXTREMELY thin and uncomfortable feeling. Didnt try shooting it yet so maybe its better then I think?  

Did get to shoot a straight limbed bow with a fatter locater grip on it and love it, deffinatly want one.

That sharper gripped Hill works for those with beefy hands and it helps if the bow is completely healed and deep in the hand. If you have a boney hand structure and your grip is more into the web of your thumb and index finger, that sharp grip will put more pounds per inch on a  more sensitive part of your hand.  I have seen cases with others and with myself on a locator grip, that they gave a bruise in the bow hand.  If a beefier locator is right for you, make certain that you make that very clear to the bowyer before you have them make you a new bow, not all locators are the same.
