That sharper gripped Hill works for those with beefy hands and it helps if the bow is completely healed and deep in the hand. If you have a boney hand structure and your grip is more into the web of your thumb and index finger, that sharp grip will put more pounds per inch on a more sensitive part of your hand. I have seen cases with others and with myself on a locator grip, that they gave a bruise in the bow hand. If a beefier locator is right for you, make certain that you make that very clear to the bowyer before you have them make you a new bow, not all locators are the same.
