Bud you've got that back quiver building down my friend.

I love the one you built for me.(Thank you again!)

I look forward to seeing a picture of you wearing this one, full of arrows and a "Hill" style bow in hand.

God bless,Mudd

Not sure if it'll work for me though. I'm still not flexible. Preliminary indications aren't looking good. If it doesn't work for me then maybe a donation to the Hill hunt for raffling off for St. Jude????   :)

Lefties take note.

It's finished now. Some more pics later. Gonna do some testing.

***photo update***

I had some leftover leather so I made two. One isn't Hill style. It's a 3pt connection with quick release antler button for woodsy crawling and general sneakery.

I'll be using my Shrew back quiver. The body of the quiver is not as large as the Hill style quiver but it will still hold all the arrows that I need. The bow pocket on the back is where my Shrew Hill bow will ride when I'm being transported by my "Shrewter" to my stand to hunt.

Before I get chastised for using a motorized vehicle,...it's because my two knee replacements don't allow me the mobility that my original knees did...   :)  The Scoot is a 49cc Honda Ruckus. It is very quiet, has all the power needed and the wide tires work well on sandy trails. It wont haul out a deer but the intent is only to get me close to my hunting spot...   :archer:

Nice quiver design Ron

And get to your hunting spot however you can. It's all about the hunting enjoyment anyway.

Ron don't worry, you will be back on your feet in no time.  I had mine done last year and 1.5 to 2 months was hunting.

I particularly like the custom blood trailer platform at your feet Mr. LaClair! Have you fitted it with a bow rack yet?

Here are some pics of my soon to be Wesely special. It has a long flight from Saskatchewan so it is not here yet.

I had them for sale on my web site at one time, I've been thinking about bringing them back...     :dunno:     It's a real handy way to carry your bow on a bicycle or a horse also.

Ron,

You are going to be glad you did the knee replacement. I had mine done about 10 years ago and it got me back into the woods. Before the replacement walking was just too painful. I had pretty much given up on hunting. It takes about 18 months before you are fully healed. I know they tell you a year, but in truth it is a bit longer. Walk as much as you can and take big steps when you do. The more you stride out, the better your results will be. If you walk like Tim Conway's old man character while you are healing, you will keep walking that way. It does hurt more, but it's worth the effort, believe me!

Nice quiver, by the way!

I got a little marsh mud on the Big-Five this Saturday.

Hunting Blackwater Wildlife Refuge for Sika deer with my pal Mike.  We hiked 1.5 miles through the marsh in the pitch black of 4:30am. This is what it looked like on the way out!

It was a beautiful chilly morning on the marsh.  Heard some bugling, saw a nice stag and hind, but we didn't get any shot opportunities.  It was a great morning though.

Ok, so I could not help myself.  There was a Hill style bow on the auction site and it was only at 50 bucks so I bid on it. Needless to say once I started I had to have it, and I payed a little more than what I wanted to. BUT, it looks pretty good. The bower is Craig from C&N archery and the bow is 68" 55@28. Zebra wood riser and lam. Red elm core with a lam of carbon.  1" of backset, straight grip with a slight undercut much like a Deathwish straight grip.

I called and talked to the bower today, (he was not the seller). Super nice guy and this is the only design he makes.  He has been building bows for a LOOONG time.  He is 65 y/o now and has only shot and built Hill style bows his entire career so I am excited to give this C&N bow a try.  I'll post pics later

The mods need to "lock" this thread down....
I'm sure that I'm not the only recovering Hill-A-Holic that needs relief from all of these fun posts....
If I see much more...I know that I'll break down and start Hill-ing again....
Have Mercy!!!!  :)  LOL!!!!
Have a nice day!
