I am planning on building a couple of hill style bows this spring.  One bow i want to build is a double shelf like the HHA Robinhood.  Could someone that has one let me know what the width of the riser at the shelf?  How far short of center are they cut on each side?

Thanks,

Eric

Don't worry, boys. I'll be there to keep his bows comforted and resting easy.   :bigsmyl:

Damn Brian, that is a bad bit of luck you are having.  Good luck with your hand ... sounds pretty painful - I am greatful it was not any worse.

So, a Bear Bruin eh?  That did not take long.  Good luck, I hope this deal does not fall through.

This is what I heard;
The VHS tape of "Hit em..."  was being sold by 3 Rivers. 3 Rivers then began to sell it in DVD form. Shultz objected, (for some business reason), and sales in DVD ceased.

DVD versions are super rare. You are more likely to find a VHS version.

My wallet and bank account are very happy that those bows are too heavy for me.  Some nice stuff there.  Go get 'em, boys.

Hey Brian, good luck with the busted hand.  I wish you a speedy recovery.  I've been having a lot of problems with my already ruined shoulders, so I haven't shot in about 2 weeks.  It's killing me.  I should really have my shoulders looked at by a doc, but I fear that surgery may be necessary.  That is not something I want to undergo and really don't want to hear that it may be my only option.    :(

Mike thank you and I too wish you a full recovery. But I will be the bad guy here and say you need to see the doc. Surgery may be a possibility, but PT does wonders

Yeah I know.  My main concern is not being able to work if surgery is required.  I'm in construction so giving my arms any rest is virtually impossible.  And if I need to get cut losing the use of my shoulder(s) pretty much puts me out of commission work-wise.  Oh life.  It's so grand sometimes.

Thanks for trying to push me in the right direction.  I'm REALLY stubborn though.  I wish I was blessed with shoulders as tough as my head.

How many of you Hill guys use HH broadheads? If so what is your arrow setup? What spine and what wood?I have some 160gr. on order. How much difference will 30grs make in spine?Right now I,m shooting 45/50 spine cedars  with zwickey deltas. The arrows are 27 1/2 in.Would I have to cut them down to 27in. for the 160 grain heads?

3feathers....

the 160 gr heads will probably be 170 - 175 before sharpening.  I've loved them for years and shot game with them, but now I prefer the 140 gr. 5/16 heads....they fit fine on an 11/32 shaft, are 1" x 3", smaller ferrule for sharpening ease, and I can add lead weight in the ferrule to fine tune my arrow spines.

For those 160 heads....I would up the spine of your arrows at least 5# or cut them back 1".  For every 25 gr. over 125 gr. that you add to the head, you decrease your spine 5#.

Hill Pic just for the heck of it.
Wesley Special sporting a new String.  Made it myself only took two tries to make a good one.  There is room for improvement though  ;) .

Nice Wesley Chris! Looks like a deeper grip than the standard HHA grip - which I find makes the bow shoot very consistently.
