Thanks Nate, but I don't know who that is. Is he on the site?

Patrick, Jaques Bonin is his name, he post near the top of this page. Think he has a 70# Schultz in the classified.

Patrick, I can be reached at [email protected]

I am not sure which bow you are refering to, my collection is extensive. way too many bows for one man to have and use. It is a sickness, for everyone in archery is just a tad off/center! Hope all is well with Howard Hill hog hunt in Alabama, I am besides myself that I cannot participate in this event. Also can't wait to hear the stories and see pictures. Have fun, time to go to work! later Jacques

Well, I've been bitten too, when I started reading about the hog hunt. I now have a "Redman". 55# @ 28", that's about 51# @ my draw length. Got it from nineworlds9 in the classifieds. Not in time for this Hill Hunt but should be good for Texas!

Well y'all, Friday night the Berry Vixen was in good form. Took home second place at the 3D tourney, about 20 longbow shooters. Most of the LB were black widows, ACS (a&h), and some more hybrid mixtures. Only one Hill style bow, Kurt Stunkle took first, maybe next month the straight stick can do it. these straight sticks can hang with the best of them.

Has anyone here ever tried a Saxon Safari hill style longbow?  Looked nice so I thought I'd take a chance on it on the auction site, Randy Dehnel knows how to make a great bow.

Sport, I have shot one and they are nice. So much so I went for the same one. I'll bow out and let you Rick and roll. Good luck

That's what I was hoping to hear. I have had a few Saxon Americans but after getting used to the straight deep hill grip all the other bows handles feel awkwardly small and thin.

Yesterday, I was shooting my NM Classic outside at a friend place.... Lost a few arrows.... need more practice with that bow.... But love the way it feel. Just need, more practice to master it! Seems like I was missing the target mostly to the left(right hand shooter)???
Anyway it was fun

Are you left eye dominant?

Not really... I mean if I do all the test, I get both results, with right eye being dominant more often, I shoot both eyes open, and I'am pretty much ambidextrous in day to day life. Never noticed to shoot more to the left with my other bows...

I think I just have to get use to the bow... I hope.
Cheers
David

David,
When I first got a HH I had the same problem. I watched Masters of the Bare Bow and the part with Gary Sentmen (I think that was the name) said the same thing when he was demonstrating selfbows. I believe it is because the shelf is not center cut and it just takes time for you to adjust your sight picture. Your arrows might be a little stiff too. Someone with more knowledge will probably come along with a more accurate explanation. By the way, I can now switch from my recurve, to selfbow, or my Howard Hill without any problems. Stick with it and it will come.

I have been an off an on hill bow owner now for about 5 years. Being out of them for a few years, I recently got the bug again and traded for a nice redman. I don't know why I ever left! Just thought I'd share my testimony!  LOL!!!

It's so comforting to see the Hill bows are coming back into their own once again.
Glad to see that folks are really beginning to enjoy the simplicity of the straight end American Semi Longbow.

Thank you Bicster, it is my plan to stick with it!! I have 2 dozen tapered larch shafts that are waiting to be turned into arrows. In 2 different spine for different point weight... We'll see what I can do with those!
Cheers
