Spring turkeys if I'm lucky Chris!

@knawbone - maybe we can get together sometime this year and you can try it out first hand?

@goshawkin - I've had an all bamboo Schulz and currently have be with brown glass - both sweet shooters! The Miller stringfollow (glassed) is as sweet in the hand as the all natural though, best of both worlds!

Bud and Pavan,

When I make the Hill quivers,  I cement an additional insert layer of leather on top (for the inside) of the bottom of the quiver so it's 2 layers.  I also make the bottom a bit too big, and make it flex inward all the way around the quiver bottom as i lace so that it minimizes the broadhead contact with lacing.  It makes the bottom about 1/4 inch above the true bottom of the quiver. In fact, I just add a very thin layer of leather or foam on top of that and have never had a broadhead cut a lace, or punch through.  It doesn't look quite as clean because I am flexing the leather a bit, but it hides the lacing from sharp heads.

I have a very nice quiver from Steven Catts, and I copied this from his design.  (I'd love to take credit  ;) )

Pretty sweet looking girl you have there Ralphie!

I know that the pictures don't do it justice even though photography is what you do.

These Sage bows are just sweeter in person.

God bless,Mudd

Thanks guys,
the Sage you now have, Mudd is indeed a stunner.
On this Hawk;
The concave/convex construction is surely different.

Makes for a faster, flatter shooting bow than all the other Millers, ( Except the Expedition)

Been playing with my new Dave Johnson I got a couple weeks back.  I have to say I have struggled with it a bit.  I could tell it wanted to shoot but I just couldn't be consistent enough to make it shoot well consistently.  I got a new FF string Monday to replace the B50 string that came with it as I damaged the B50 string a bit.  All I can say is what a difference the new FF string made.  It's like a totally different bow.  For the past 3 nights since I put the new FF string on my groups are tight in the center of target.  It's easy.  I did not really spend anytime tuning with the B50 string as I really just wanted to get the feel of the bow before I started messing with things.  I guess this new string just jives with the bow and my arrows.  My previous FF experiences on my other HHA bows were nice but nothing nearly as dramatic as this.  I am very pleased now.  Not only did Dave Johnson build one beautiful bow, it shoots like a dream.  It's going to be a fun summer.

I have definitely discovered "HAWK-envy"....

I would have to sell a bow to get on the list....

I wonder if anyone has experience with BOTH a Sunset Hill and a Miller HAWK?  And how they might compare to one another?

Anyone?

Craig -

I have two of Dave's red cedar bows and would not take anything for either. Both are top of the line. Superb cast and extremely accurate.
