I don't leave my laminated wood bows strung when not in use, I don't think its an issue for a day or two as it will return to original shape, but I don't leave mine strung for long periods of time. The modern materials and glues are better now than ever but why take a chance.I have an older Schulz and two Miller longbows that have kept their original shape very well.

Oh My....she shoots good too. My arrows weighed nearly 700 grains as they are way to stiff but this bow shoots good. I got some more arrows on the way to get her in the swamp after pork.

Forgot. She is 48@27 I draw maybe 26.5 to 27 and 66 long. Sweet shooter. I shot maybe a 100 arrows and the shoulder feels good so maybe I can enjoy this "Hill" style bow for a while. I enjoy shooting these bows more than any.RC

Beautiful riser on her RC.....shooting looks great too, but those shady wooded parts look sooooo nice to those of us where temps just hit triple digits!

Good luck on your bacon run once your new arra's arrive.

Darn sure is pretty !!!  You got a nice one for sure..

I was going to tell ya, I have some CE90's if you'd like me to send you a few to test..  Be glad to, just let me know.

I kinda like shooting the GT Blems when I can get the right spine, I'm a little bit cheap on my arrows !

Hey RC, I bet that Shelton was quiet with 700gr arrows! The leather I used for the arrow rest is just the grip leather rough side out. I was thinking it maybe a tad thick. Maybe try removing it and see if that helps those stiff arrows. If it does then that piece could be thinned up or replaced with something thinner.

RC, I'll venture a guess... riser wood ..Bacote.

Steve Turay knows for sure and I am quite sure he always enjoys talking to happy customers whether you got your bow directly from him or otherwise procured it.

RC, I pretty sure the handle wood is Bolivian Rosewood. That is the wood on my whisper handle and it looks the same and was built about the same time.

The bow shoots very good. I can`t put it down. I just came back inside from shooting again this evening after a cooling rain. The arrows are 35/55 and much to stiff and it is bogged down with point weight to get them to fly decent. I used the evening to work on my form as I am shooting split finger again.I have some 1916`s on the way I hope I can put 175 grain heads on and get to shoot straight. I am also gonna take advantage of Pats offer to try a cx shaft.Jeff has already recommended those as well. I kept these poor flying logs in a paper plate at 30 yards earlier today near every shot and I`m pleased with that from a new bow and changing back to split. The only noise from the shot was the click of the stiff arrow against the bow. Very pleased with this bow and surprised at the cast of a bow with this much string follow.
With the amount of arrows I shot yesterday and today my shoulder would normally be killing me from a Hill style bow. Its like I have not even shot. That makes me HAPPY.RC

RC, you're singing my tune brother!!

I don't have any rain cooled tempts here but the suns going down, the lawn is all mowed so it time to fling some arrows before bath time...lol

I am so happy for you RC.

I love the fact that your new Shelton isn't bothering your shoulder(s).

If anyone is interested T.C.M. is showing They Died With Their Boots On. Howard did all the shooting in this film and I could be wrong but at the end in the massacre scene it appears that all the Indians shooting are Howard dressed in different costumes. Its interesting to see Indians shoot Hill style. Movie airs tomorrow night 8:00 P.M. eastern time.

Couple of questions for you fellers please...
1. What kind of glove are you using? I don`t like those sewed on the ends while shooting split.
2.For anyone shooting under 50 lbs what is your arrow setup?
thanks,RC.

Hey RC - I have a Half Breed that pulls near on the exact weight of your new bow at the same draw length. I get good flight with 1916s cut to 28.25 w/175gr head or 40-45 cedars cut to 28 w/125 hr head. I think the Shelton is slightly farther from center but that'll get you pretty close.

RC,

I'm pulling 44# on my Shelton and it likes a tapered,44# spine D. Fir shaft, 160 grain point cut 27.5" BOP.

RC-I have been shooting the Howard Hill deluxe glove for about 3 weeks.  This is the first glove I have gotten in 5 or more years even though I have been in need of one for probably 3! I'm not a fan of the stitching on top of the fingers either.  It seem like I have to relearn my anchor point or something. I HATE changing gloves!!! The verdict is still out on the HH because I'm really trying to give it a fair shot.

I'm really considering going bare fingers like Rik, but can only stand it for about 12-15 shots at a time.
