What are you finding to be troublesome with a straight grip? What have you preferred?

Mr. Lamb, that is GORGEOUS!
Geez, now y'all have gotten me started on something else...
Charlie, do you note any different feel or performance with the riser like that?

Consistent hand placement.  Having a locator or pistol grip on my other bows seems to make me think about it less and I just shoot.  The righty Shrew Hill I just sold largely solved the problem as it is a very deep very narrow wedge type grip which forces you to hold it a certain way.  I think shooting that one helped so maybe that's why shooting the Big River now feels better than I remember.

Linwood,

I don't notice an real difference in that bow and any of my other Hill style bows. I think that bow is just a tad less quick than my fiberglass bows, but not enough to matter.
It's a very stable, smooth shooting bow.

That La Grange big river longbow has some karma connected to it for sure, Lamont and John are two of the really good guys that gave a lot to archery. Ron.

Does anyone have more pictures of BIG RIVER HH-style bows?

Plus this message will put the thread back on page one where I can find it!

A while back I bought a Toelke Super D....I ended up selling it to fund a few house repairs. Didn't really have to sell it but I wasn't quite clicking with it...well, not consistently anyways.

All summer I've been missing that bow.

The good news is I found a great deal on a used one from a fellow tradganger. It arrived today, and I couldn't be more pleased. I will post some pics later tonight. Man, these things are quiet.

PLEASE, pictures of the "Big River(s)".  And, thanks for putting this back on page 1 - as you mentioned...I was getting worried that y'all were gone!

btw:  ordered shafts from Shurewood for my lb - what a great experience!  I can't wait to see these shafts and start shooting them!  If initial impressions indicate the product - WOW!

Tx the Super D is a sweet shooter for sure.  Only reason mine is up for sale right now is I'm feeling lately that I can't give 6 bows all fair shooting time and I hate having them sit on the rack.  I am not gonna give it away though, if it doesn't sell at what I listed it for its gonna hang around.  It was such an easy bow to shoot well right away I think I'd be real confident in it hunting.

What is the consensus here on the Super D guys?  Does it qualify as a 'Hill' style bow or is it a D shaped r/d bow?

La Grange is working out really well for me guys.

I haven't been doing this as long as most here, but when they look like this I would think it'd be hard to call it anything else. I've been wrong before, though. Thoughts?

Great going RC, work comes first.  Always has and always will... Sometimes it's a bit tough to swallow but it comes first. That's the way I was brought up, the old way.

Good luck with your new bow.

I bought a Super D on this sight.  It was a beautiful bow, but I quickly sold it. The diameter of the grip was simply too small.  I talked to another member who had the same problem.  Do the grips all run on the small side with this bow?

Yeah the Super D is Super slender.  LOL.  I still want to hear the final word on it:  Hill bow?  R/D? Lol
