So... David Mitchell got Stabow's Wesley. I contacted him on the same day, and he said it was sold. It's all good, though, because now it turns out that I have Stabow's 68" Big 5 coming this way via Priority Mail. He hooked up a fellow RN! Woo hoo! It may be here by Friday!

Tried catching up with this "thread"?  More like a cable!  Anyway, no hope so I just picked up the last couple of pages.

RE grips, I tried a dished grip on Bamboozle and really liked it. Put it on the last couple.  Here it is on Chocolate Moose:

I started out getting my new Hills with locator, but went to straight for a long time.  Now I'm finding the dished a nice "in between"

I like the deep locator on my Forward Scouts, too, but it is definitely a bit different, bringing you up to a medium wrist instead of low:

Endless opportunities to play different variations of the game...

Dick,
Chocolate Moose is a handsome lad!

How long is the riser?  That dish looks comfortable - lotsa room for big hands.

Tony...  you can see a complete set of pix of Moose at:

 http://dickwightman.com/archeryactivity/bowbuilding/gallery/chocolatemoose/chocolatemoose.html

It does have a large grip that would be good for big hands...  it's a 50# bow (wasn't meant to be but the walnut core lams fooled me!)  It has the features I'm currently playing with... extreme string follow and classic riser, made to shoot off the knuckle, so right or left handed.

I can tell you that it's a sweet shooter too!

Dick was nice enough to allow me to have it here for awhile.

I had to do a little adjusting with shooting off my knuckle. It too me back to my days of shooting my selfbows but not at the same time...lol

That's got to be about as clear as "mud"...lol

Sooo...string follow is a sweetner.

Looks like the Moose has a good bit of it.  I can imagine it would take some work to find an arrow spined to fly around that handle.

The arrow match isn't a big problem.  Usually a size down on the spine does it.  I built an off the knuckle bow called "Arrowl Flynn" a couple of years ago and circulated it among a group during the hunting season.  Six or eight guys had it and each found a match.

Lock him up!  He's got a terminal case of the "Sunset" bug - a potent mutation of the current epidemic.

Bob,
Enjoy it pard, glad someone who will shoot it has it now. It's been a favorite of mine, but I hardly shot it because at my draw it's just too heavy. I expect to see some good pics of you either popping a target, or drawing blood! It was a great trade for me also, shot yours all day Saturday, fit me great!

I could tape the war dance and send it to America's Funniest Home videos - Let's see, how many bows could I buy with $100K?  :banghead:
