3feathers I have had Hills with and without antler tip overlays.

I would just as soon have a pretty wood overlay but either one works.

I use the push/pull method to string and unstring my bows but nothing is as safe as a bow stringer.

Thanks for the pictures Kelly!

A beautiful bow.

Tell me about what it feels like in the hand when you loose the arrow.

Kelly, there is just no way you can kill a bear with a bow that pretty. The bears will just sit back and laugh out loud.

You should send that bow to me, and I will promptly send you one of my proven but rough-looking bear killers. No charge.

Tony I don't know about you but for me there's a fine line between ecstasy and excruciation.

Looking at pictures like Kelly's certainly falls into the ecstasy category but to know my new Sunset Hill is getting close but still not here and no way of knowing how much longer it will be fits perfectly my excruciating waiting pains of our "buddy bows".

Mudd deep breaths in throught the nose and out through the mouth. Inhale ice exhale fire. If that doesn't calm you down try some chamomile tea. And if that doesn't work put some vince gill in the juke box if he can't put you to sleep nothing can!

Kelly-

I'm thinking about going with carbon on my next Hill bow. I had carbon in other bows that were extremely fast, but they were stiffer to draw. What's your opionion on the carbon?

X2 Kelly.

I think it would be difficult to explain the feeling as mos of us think in terms of glass belly/back bows.

Give it a try if you can...we are all ears!   :campfire:

Nice recommendation Ben!!!  Lots of good video, scenery and hunting footage!  I don't believe that was Jason doing the HH shooting, but it was one of their bows   :)

Thanks again for the suggestion!!

Quick questions for ya experts.  I am thinking of having my wesley special shortened to 66 or 65" .  I draw just a shade under 26" and aint tall  I am having some dificulty shooting in the kneeling position due to the 68" length.  The price is 133 including shipping so the cost is way less than a new one. So is it a good idea or not,  what length would be best.  Also I am aware that te poundage will go up around 3 lbs per inch and that is good as I do desire a little more.

Chris,

Funny, so am I and have wondered about the cost. That is cheap - great service indeed! I will probably do that eventually with my Half Breed but think it will not get used much if any when I get my SSH.

I've always liked shooting different bows but my thinking is that I will remain a mediocre archer at best unless I become very familiar with one bow.  I want to dial-in and see where that will lead me.

3 Feathers ...
I use woods alloys and carbons .
I let the bow and the animal I'm hunting tell what arrows I should be using .

My Miller Ol' Tom loves 9gpp tapered spruce and cedars ...
My Belcher Union Jacks loves nearly anything I shoot from it and seems to match really well with AD Trad Lites at between 10 and 12gpp and shoots my woodies [ doug fir and spruce equally well
My reflexed Hill bows ... they seem to prefer between 11 - 12gpp ... the string follows between 9-10 gpp ...

But at hunting ranges its all much of a muchness IMHO and I place far more value on where and how the arrow lands than any particular arrow type or weight .

Note ... all these bows love 2016's .......
