all that rest stuff is just to have a starting point for the arrow launch. the arrow doesn't slide across the rest when shot, it jumps up and away from the rest. getting the sideplate closer to the bow adds in tuning ease. the arrow shelf extension is just that, making the shelf wider. the taller extension is to make an arrow holder which helps keep the arrow on the rest in a fast shooting situation, or when on stand, or when stillhunting. my arrows don't tough the shelf extension when the arrow is on the rest. and the arrows fly up and away from the extension. some fletching combos might hit the extension causing erratic flight.
