What are the pro's and/or cons of the caramelized bamboo lams in HHA bows?

Riser straight with a straight form will be allright for a little bit (1/2") of deflex/string follow. For more stringfollow you will have to make your form deflex ( with a straight riser).

A little bit more cast against a stiffer feel in the draw.

B U T ,   in my opinion it's worth to work up a little for the better cast.

When I made some string follows in the mid 70s, I used rather steeply tapered lams. I got anything from 3/4" to 1&1/2" of string follow by adjusting the taper. I used an adjustable form and worked out the string follow versus the lamination tilt mathematically.  My first one popped the bamboo to maple glue line on the back of the riser, I was going for a fast tapered straight whip ended bow. I blamed the form at the time, but thinking back, I believe now that my riser back was too smooth for the Urac to key into. The glass we used was stuff with a strip to pull off, and it was engrained with a pattern so Urac would stick to it.

Thanks guys for the help.  I am going to lay up a straight form with about a .005 total limb taper with a Straight riser. Probably a 15 inched.    Thinking a 3 lam if I can find thick enough boo.  ....need probably .140 butt ends.. Shooting for 55#
Any ideas where I can buy some tempered Bamboo?

Finally getting used to the jump in weight on my string follow and after i learned that his bow likes the nock above the arrow this thing has turned into a tack driver.  With some 9 gpp arrows it has no shock or vibration.  Shot my RD just to see and was just as smooth on the shot and seemed just as fast.  RD is a few lbs lighter though.  So far i like the string follow better than the straight.  The carmelized boo is nice looking to say the least.

Well, with the help of my chiropractor and about a month without shooting due to shoulder pain, I finally got the Shelton and Kanati out and flung some arrows. The shoulder held up well. It's just a little stiff, but no pain. My shooting was a trifle rusty, understandably, but not bad considering.

I'd been trying the nock point under the arrow thing, ala Howard Hill. I switched back to nock over and my groups became much more consistent...and smaller. I don't seem to get any "fliers" with the nock point above. With it under, I always seemed to have about one in five that lost it's way between the bow and the target. I guess just because it worked for Howard doesn't necessarily mean it works for me. I can live with that.

Anyway, it felt good to loose a few arrows, finally.

30coupe, lots of my arrows seem to "lose their way" to the target. I love the term! It isn't me--they just got lost.

Got my new Tembo today. As always HH archery did an outstanding job all the way around. It is smooth as can be and quiet. I mean you really should be able to hear a bow shoot you know. If your a few steps away all you will here is feathers flying not the bow.Shoots good too.

Was walking out of the yard to shoot a bit and check out a Turkey ridge by the house. This track is 40 yards behind where my Wife parks her car in the yard.

Shot a few pine cones and saw this fella. Thought he would make a mobile bow prop.

The Turkey Ridge..Scratching and strut marks every where.RC

Fine lookin bow, RC. Looks like it's greenin up pretty good down there... is here too.
Good luck with the turkey's

Hey Joey, hows it goin over there in ole Miss.

HH archery has the bamboo you're looking for.
3 lams will do well.

Go shorter with the riser. Try 12" from fade to fade.
