3 line Micro Speed nocks for me-second choice would be Mercury's.

Quality control went to crap on Mercury nocks one time and I quit buying them as I had to throw so many away they were malformed. Can I assume they are better now?

Just got my wood arrows no need for tire gel on those. They are quiet on the draw if i decide to hunt with alums I might slick those up. No need with the woods though.

I had the same issue.  I bought 100 and was able to use about 25 of them.  I found some older "good" mercury nocks in 11/32 and 5/16.  Best nock for Hill style.  I like no snap, serving just right size for a snug-fit without the nock "ears" spreading.  I wish someone would set up and begin making these again.

What I like about Charlie is that we get into all these discussions on the gang here about this and that ...but then with no words Charlie throws In a picture of a dead something (usually awesome) and it reminds me of why I shoot this Hill bow ...to go hunting.

Thanks Charlie!

Yep, Kansas Jake... kinda sounds like an old west gun slinger don't it?

I'll be headed out Sunday for the start of the Missouri season. These home grown birds always deal me fits.

By the way. I like Bohning Classic nocks. While I seldom have a need to get a second arrow on the string fast I doubt it slows me more than a fraction of a second.
I like their positive fit on the string, they roll nicely between my fingers and have a prominent locator for no peek nocking of the arrow....and they are widely available

Good luck overspined!  I am attempting the same thing this year.  I have been chasing turkey for 6 years here with a blind and dekes without a loose yet...going without the blind and the hill bow this year.

Great Bird Charlie!

I killed many a critter with the Mercury Speed Nocks, but when their quality disappeared, I switched to the Classic Nocks.

I miss the old, GREAT Mercury Speed Nocks, but the newer ones were pure junk.

Have any of you found something you like even better than the Classics, or are they about the best we can get for now?

Too bad Bohning wouldn't invent an improved Mercury Speed Nock model. I have a feeling they could sell them by the boatload.

I am no expert but I have only used the classic nocks and have never ever had a problem.

Bohning Classics in flo green (chartruese sp?) for years. Decided this week to try some flo Ruby red, what!!  discovered they were discontinued severals years back. Flo green only thing left.  I 've tried their T nocks in the past, no thanks.
We are victims of carbon shafting me thinks.

Joebuck... nice of you to notice the arrows. I think sometimes guys make real pretty arrows and fall in love with them so much they are afraid to lose them.

I don't give a rip about my arrows. They are closely matched and straight and ready to be shot away at a moments notice.

That is why I don't hunt with carbon arrows. I have seen way too many guys limit what they shoot at because they may lose or break an arrow. I don't really want to leave carbon arrows lost in the woods anyway, it feels like littering to me. I cannot type the words I heard a farmer use when he found a 15" carbon straw stuck in his combine tire. It looked very weathered and old, but it was still lethal to his tire.

Good point about the littering.  As I switch to wood, I'll feel better.  I know I've lost several carbons in the woods that I still look for occasionally.  I think I've come out even though, finding several from other hunters.
