Sounds like a perfect spot for attracting a nice, hungry boar Rik!

Good luck!

Well, I got a special bow made for me from Craig. "LegendStick." I asked for some special touches, like  a narrow deep grip, and narrower limbs and tips,Black glass back and White belly.

I picked it all out and said make it GLOSSY.

75 @ 28 , 68 inch string follow, 3 Lams of Boo, bacote riser and no leather on the shelf, just strung her up for the first time and about to go shoot her.

I really liked the Looks of Peter OStechers from the his Legend Stick website.so thats what I went for.

And I just set the brace to 6 inches and shot 100 arrows...All I can say is this bow is super sweet!

it stacks arrows for me at 30 yards. I have 7-8  out of 10 on each quiver full that I could grab with one hand and the rest are very close only vertical spread not left or right...(so thats all me..   Its VERY fast, and there is no hum or handshock.  I only have 100 arrows through it but it is so far the sweetest shooting Hill I have.

Thanks to Nate who told me less lams = less glue = more performance...I do believe you  Nate.  Thanks for the tip!

Craig did an AWESOME job on the tiller and timing of this bow.

Thank you Craig!!!!

Pat, that is a Beauty!

That Bacote could pass for Zebra wood.

Nice bow MT....that combo and design is probably one of Craig's best shooters for all around performance.  Nice to see a longbow with clean tips like they used to be made.

You shoot that bow exclusively for a year and you will really be a crack shot!

My plan is to stick to that one as already it seems to know what Im looking at!

Thats what Ive been looking for and I think i have found it(again tought to tell with only a hundred down range but ive been shooting long enough to know the difference.  its very subtle, but its there.  and for those who have found that feeling, you know exactly what Im talking about...it just all comes together in some bows more than others. This one really is a shooter, the cast is amazing!

I had a pick of Zebra vs Bacote, and went for this piece of Bacote...it was better figured and not so uniform in the lines as the piece of Zebra wood Craig had.

Thanks Guys.

Pat,love the bow!a short while ago I picked up a new Westley from craig and like you said,You just know.man that thing shoots exactly where I'm looking I've never shot a longbow as good.I've got a D10 string coming but unless it shoots as good as the stock Hill string I don't think I'll be changing anything.

This past year has taken me down a different path and it all started here on the Hill Thread.

The exposure to the "hard way" and all of its beauty and simplicity has been a blast.  Learned a lot here and still pick up bits and pieces that make a difference.

Just picked up a dandy bow.  It was built by Frank San Marco.  68" and pulls 55#@27.  From what I have learned so far, this is one of his more recent builds as it has a slight locator grip as opposed to the straight or slightly dished from the ones he built 30+ years ago.

It has a core of yew with a back and belly of brown glass.  The limb tips are pencil thin and sport a unique (unusual) hand carved fluted overlays.

Have a look:
