Thanks for the photos Mr. Charlie. Back quivers, longbows and squirrels. It don't get much better than that for a barrel of fun.I can't wait for squirrel season to open here. I have 3 dozen squirrel arras ready to go. I can just walk out my backdoor and be in squirrel heaven.

Nice looking picture Charlie.
In 1991 when I got my first real Longbow,a Miegs 76#r' A fella at the shop said,"get some of these judos, they are great fun AND you can't loose them"
I went to the back field and knocked up a judo, spied a fearsome Grackel, and LOST the arrow!
First shot ever with an "unloseable point"  LOST!
I have not let loose of a judo without that playing in my mind since.

You bow in the picture looks real good Charlie.

I too am a member of the lost "unloseable judo" club.

I was so excited to hit the woods with my newly tipped arrow that I had just been told I couldn't lose.

I literally had purchased mine 15 minutes before hitting the woods. I walked up near the top of a small ridge that was one of my favorite squirrel spots and lucked out by hitting a small gray that was running across the limbs in a mighty Oak.

My confidence just went "through the roof", I was one of the best shooters in "Sherwood" now.

I decided to continue toward the crest where there was a huge White Oak that was known to me as a Fox sq. hang out.

Sure enough, I stalked up close enough to see a house cat sized fox sq. sitting up at the side of the tree filling his belly with acorns. I knew that he made such a huge target that I just couldn't miss.(right!)

I watched my arrow sail over the crest of the hill and Mr. sq. was totally undisturbed....lol

I ended up emptying my quiver at this dude before he decided to leave.

I had forgotten something..... the hill dropped off immediately over the crest, almost a cliff that had a road at its bottom and a large deep creek on the other side of that.

I found a couple of my arrows in the off side of the creek bank. I assume the others were stuck in the muddy bottom of the creek as I never found them after a long search.

Thanks for stirring up some memories and sharing your story plus some great pictures Charlie.

We have a different way of losing judos out here...hitting hidden lava rocks, snapping off the head and sending it spinning into lost sock land.....

I must be getting 'cheap'.. er, frugal as I get older...now I mostly use blunts from .38 casings with lead melted inside to make weight.

Boy I wish we had squirrel hunting out here....guess I will go bear hunting today instead.

That's a good one.  Last night we filled the yard with a half dozen soda cans from about 10 to 25 yds.  Just threw them out there.  Then my daughters and stood up on the porch to see who could hit more cans.  They had pellet guns with scopes.  I'm happy to say I won.  Not by percentage though (I was maybe only 30%).  But I could get off all 6 arrows in my quiver at a leisurely pace while they were still loading their second pellet.  Then they had to stop and wait for me to go collect.

This Owl blank has made an appearance before.  Several hundred pages ago...  But I think I have the tiller right now thanks to Nate's help last year and I finally finished the handle I'd been wanting to do forever to match the quiver.  (I still need to pull the silencers off the old string, or maybe just make a new one.)  But here is "Rook":
