Wow! Very anxious to hear what Bob has to say. That bow is...........I can't find the proper adjective.

Hi uncle Gil,it's your long lost nephew,Nick.I'd be honored to take her when you're ready.(Sorry it was worth a shot!)
seriously though, that a great find with a very cool story to go along with it.The best part is you're going to take it hunting, not just hang it on the wall.

Gil, food for thought.... where would the bow be if the last owner had thoughts along the same lines?

The bow would be out of circulation, you and the bow would have lost out.

I know it's no one's business but yours... I just keep thinking that it will be a sad day when no one will be able to draw it and let it do what it was built to do.

Mudd I understand, but instead of one person being able to see it many can. Plus I think Bob deserves to be given some credit in archery circles and a little of his history should be made known too.

This bow has been around for a long time and how many have seen it? I think the only people may have been Howard Hill, Bob Wesley, John Schulz, Ray (who got it from Bob) and Mike who go it from Ray. Now I will have it.

You never know though I could change my mind in the future, but I don't think so.

So is that a deep dish grip or locator grip?

Neither - it's what's called a slight dish.

Gill, I know you'll be proud of that bow.

Typical of most of Howard's bows - myrtle wood riser, with white belly glass, and all of the bamboo lams on the inside of riser.

Bob Wesley now also has his Hill longbows modified with a slight thumb rest for proper hand placement. I don't know if Craig does this for him or if he does it himself.

This one has to go on the Hunt. Looks like I may have to get Snag to build a few more dozen Surewood arrows if the ones I have don't fly.

HillGang-

I wanted everyone to know that I called Bob Wesley today and I emailed him the link to the HillGang Hog Hunt 2013. Bob liked the idea, and sent me an email back that he made note of the date and thinks the hunt will be a real hoot!

I talked to Bob the first time about 10 years ago, he sent me his video and a piece of wood from Howard Hills target butt. Bob is a real gentleman.

With the attendees listed, I'd say we have about 10,000 acres covered!   :biglaugh:

I found this to be very interesting, when I told Bob Wesley that we're going to print a t-shirt with the picture of Howard carrying the hog on his back. Bob said, "that picture was Howards's wife Libby's favorite picture".

How cool is that? Way Cool!

The picture angle made it look like it had more dish to it. That is a sweet bow, and I prefer the lams going up only in the back also. Pretty pretty pretty

Mike-

I've been married for 10 years, and I had to tell my wife in the beginning, I was shooting long before I met her so she needs to understand the hunting, practicing, bow buying, TBOF state shoot every year, etc. She swears that I love archery more than her, but I don't, just different. A man needs to have a sport, and there's no better sport than archery.

I just got a Cheetah and have been shooting it for almost a week without silencers. It was quiet but I decided to put some yarn puffs on and it took out the hum of the string after the shot. I can't help but to think if we can hear something, than a deer can really hear it.
