I've used Legacy 2016 arrows cut to 29.5 BOP for my 28.5 draw and 200 grains up front out of a 47@28 Half Breed and they fly perfect.

I volunteered to help out my club and provide displays at a community event. So I lugged a bunch of bows and quivers of arrows out there, and stayed all afternoon.

When I got home, guess what was in the mailbox.    :readit:

I got a surprise in the mail today.  My new HHA bow.  When I ordered I asked Craig what the current lead time was.  He said 3-4 weeks.  That was 3.5 weeks ago.  This new bow is to compliment my 60lb Wesley Special.  The new bow if 50# @ 28".  It has Bocate limb veneers under clear glass with a Bocate riser.  It has two lambs of carmalized bamboo with a black elk laced grip.  It's a beautiful bow with lots of grain and figure to look at.  The color of the carmalized boo matches the color of the Bocate and at first glance you would mistake it as a Bocate self bow.  Got to shoot it some this afternoon and am stacking arrows.  The grip is a locator style.  I trace and measured my Wesley Special grip for Craig to copy.  He got close but this new grip is a little smaller.  So far I like it better as I have small hands.  May have to do some reducing on my Wesley grip.  I had him name this Bow "Robert Wilson Place".  I named it after a tract of land I grew up hunting in, still do, and shot my first deer in.  My next Hill bow will be named Beaver Mountain after the mountain I hunt elk on.  Dark now.  Can't wait to shoot tomorrow after church.

Killy... I'm gonna guess that it was a note from your mail(person) notifying you of their inability to deliver.

I was shooting a course in Grayling, MI yesterday, home of Fred Bear, with my 4 yr old son.  It is the MIchigan Traditional Bowhunters Jamboree.  I was waiting to shoot a target and checked out a Northern Mist LB of another solo shooter, and who's name was on the bow???   Westbrook!  We shot half a dozen targets together, Eric's a nice guy and a heck of a Hill style archer.

Nice to see you two again Eric and Matt. Wish I could have shot the course with you.
Happy you made it home safe and we will see you at the GLLI.
Maybe the prototype will not be a prototype then Matt   ;)

When I was 11 years old and went to Boy Scout Camp was the time that my passion for archery was really ignited.  That was 31 years ago now.  Scouting was an important part of my growth as a person.

Archery has probably kept me more on the right trail in life, more than I even realize.  Okiciyapi was the name of our Lodge for Order of the Arrow when I was a member and active in scouting.

The word meaning is helping each other for a common purpose.  The "Hill" brothers and sisters on tradgang are some of the most giving people with helpful information I have ever crossed paths with.  We have become something of a subculture.

Okiciyapi has meaning for me: by the old school spirit that exists of giving to others to help amoung the trad archers, being a professional counselor by trade, native american heritage just speaks of archery, and the memories and peak experiences that archery has given me through the years.  Scouting introduced me to something that has been a constant for my life.  Okiciyapi in one word sums up things for me on "right living".

I have a new quiver in the works and will post pics of it in the next couple of days. I think it will turn out nice, but a little unsure whether it will be too soft. Will have to wait and see.

Also planning on posting a few photos of some of my different longbows.

Nate,
Yes, I've shot a lot of stuff with the big Magnus I w/bleeder. I'll often carry both 2 and 4 blades in my quiver. First shot will almost always be a 4 blade with a 2 blade on the bow when tracking.

I've used them from their introduction and still use them a lot, though I do play with other heads from time to time.

I'm planning to spend this coming season shooting Simmons Interceptors.... as a two blade.

I like my broadheads big!

I like the GLLI shoot, all longbows!  Cool.  Sorry I didn't have time to swing by Chuck, had the two little ones and they had to stay busy.  I look forward to shooting your new Hill style bow though. I'll see you there Eric, I'll PM you ahead of time. It's nice when everyone tries to make it and support these shoots, there are a lot of different ones these days, but they are a good time and continue to be a place for those with similar passions to get together. I'll be camping with the family, I convinced my wife the air mattress is not that bad!  Little white lie...

Charlie have you tried a "Shasquatch" two bade broadhead(135 Grain)hunting? They also offer a 2 blade utilizing a bleeder)? They are a fairly large broadhead.

Nate-

I've been using Magnus 2 blade for over 15 years, they're tough as nails. I busted through bone with them. The price is unbeatable for $25.00 for 6 is a good deal.
