Is this something you would use for setting permanent or long term stands?
As did our ancestors, I have come down out of the trees. I was way overdue for a fall!
You can drill the tree right before hunting season and the holes will stay open through the season because the trees are in their dormant stage. During the spring and summer they will "heal" and holes will close back up. If you want to drill it the following year, drill new hole about three inches away. Do not drill same hole, the tree is still soft there and it will not drill.
EZcut also sells a bit for a cordless drill. You can drill a bunch of trees just prior to season on well known travel routes. Use the hand drill for more mobile sets. Oh, bolts NEED TO BE grade 8 bolts for strength. I also coat the part of the bolt that sticks out the tree with a plastic coating that you dip tool handles. I think it's called plasti-dip
