Big foot one piece longbows
« on: March 11, 2016, 10:00:00 PM »
Looking for pics and mini review of Kirk's one piece longbow. Ive seen the ones on his site but wanted to here from those who bought one from him. I used the search feather and really didnt find many different users.I like the flatliner but want a bigger riser.Anybody got one to show off? Thanks!

That would be great! From the riser page on his site. The TD radius riser looks close to what im after.Im wondering if anybody else choose said riser for there build. Its TUFF when you cant try before to buy.I sent him a few pics of what i was looking for but was shot down. He thought it was best to choose from his stable.Im having second thoughts about the build. Someone help me out here, lol.Any other one piece longbow guys out there?

Well I just got home, and will get some posted up. I'm going to throw in a three piece Obsidian just because you might like the looks of it as well. I actually like the three piece better. The one piece is a 64 and the three piece is a 66.

Why don't you call Kirk and talk to him.  He's a good ole boy and probably won't bite. .....much.     :D

He knows his stuff and will talk to you about anything you want and give you suggestions along the way.

Just an idea!!

We talked by email only.I put down deposit. Then did search to see what others bought.I like the big riser, one piece longbows.Sometimes i put the cart before the horse.I changed my mind a few times already. I like his TD radius riser. The brown and black one on his riser page. But there all 3 piece bows.

"He thought it was best to choose from his stable"

Remember, if he changes the riser in a one piece, he may well have to build a new form, and several templates for sanding and such.    :saywhat:

Thanks Alex!
You got a couple nice looking bows there.
Wish i could shoot them.
Im "D" shape longbow with a recurve riser kind of guy.
I will bug him in a few months .

I thought kirk built custom bows and worked with his customers. So i showed him what i liked and set him up with a vid of me shooting. He gave me a compliment on form but said hes not building a riser like that.Thought it would not be strong enough. Even though i add the g10 ibeam. No problem i picked his TD riser and he said he would add it to the order. Thats the last we spoke. Will work it out.Im sure.

Yep he builds custom, I was just pointing out that it might not be feasible to change a one piece riser for one bow....  :wavey:

Point taken.Thanks
He didnt say anything about building a new form just that the arrow shelf coming over my hand some much would weaken the riser. I told him i wasnt looking for him to build me the same exact bow. Grips, site windows, bow length, bow weight are a few things that are impotant to me.Thought it would be good to mention what i was looking for and he thought it would be good to tell me how far he can go.lol.

Awesome looking bow. Kirk has built me several and we tweaked them all to get them right. If Kirk recommends not to do something listen. The man knows his stuff.

That flatliner of his really performs. I am sure you will be impressed with the bow. He built me one with a asl style riser. Really a great shooter.
shoot straight shoot often

This one is 64 42@32. Im not a speed freak. Just looking smooth draw, nice pointing, quiet bow.I will be comparing it to the 3 Omega imperials i own.He still has to spray the finish and after it hardens,he will ship. Thanks for the your comments guys.....
