Looking at replacing the nocks in my GT arrows (big Jim seconds)
Do I need the X nocks or the standard GT size... I've heard both

I'm pretty sure X nocks will not fit in those GT arrows!

Also, I have had very poor performance from Lumenocks from trad bows. I have had much better performance from Nockturnal lighted nocks from trad bows!

I have had the same experience. Although for target/3D shooting, I prefer the Lumenocks because they are easier to turn off (if they light up when you shoot them). The Nockturnals are MUCH more reliable (turn on EVERY time), but a little harder to turn back off.

Also, if you do get Nockturnals, put a little string wax in the hole on the side where you turn it off before you go hunting. That will keep blood from getting in and messing it up when you shoot a critter.

Great advice Bisch. That's been my only problem with Nocturnal, failure weeks after a bloody encounter. It worked great during and after the shot but in a couple weeks it would no longer work.  I too had great luck with Lumenock target practicing but can honestly say I never had one work right in a hunting shot! I also had great luck with the Easton magnet triggered nocks for target and hunting. I make my own bows and recessed a magnet in the riser behind arrow rest. But  went to nocturnal one year when for some reason Easton nocks wasn't available locally and never looked back.
Most people get rich by making more money than they have needs, me, I just reduced my needs!

Nocturnals all the way... like some have said, I had nothing but bad experiences with Lumenocks.  Once activated, they'd come on randomly and almost all of them just magically came back on when hanging and ran themselves dead.  What a waste of $10.

The Nocturnals have an actual on / off switch which really helps ensure battery life.

Yes with the GT size in gold tips and yes to the Nocturnals. That is all we stock for brand, but we do keep other sizes...you should see those piggies run off with a light sticking out of them. The nocturnals are so bright, the entire pig can be seen in the dark of night.
