New 2 this
« on: March 18, 2016, 12:18:00 PM »
Hi everybody I just wanted to start by saying thank you to whomever excepted me into the tradgang. I'm very excited about picking up traditional Archery and look forward to learning more about the craft respecting it and becoming a better archer. I've been shooting compound faithfully for the past 4 years with good success and wanted to try my hand at this 4sure. I recently picked up a long bow that was made by stickbow archery and will admit it is 59# 28" and too heavy for me at this point. I also have a Shakespeare parabow at 30# that I've been shooting just to get a feel for it all. So in short I'm here to learn all I can and glad to be apart of this growing brotherhood.

Welcome

My only suggestion for you is to stick with the 30# bow while developing your form and skills.  Being over bowed has been the wrecking of many new shooters.

Welcome to the addiction!

Agreed...Stick with the 30# and then move up slowly.  The leap from 30# to 59# is a bit much.  Once you are comfortable, I'd say go halfway and find something in the mid 40's range.

As for TG...these are some of the finest people in the world. The amount of knowledge and helpfulness here is huge.  The best part is...the willingness to help others in our sport is just as huge.

Welcome!

This is the right place to be if your passionate about traditional archery!

Welcome aboard
For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

Thanks everybody such a warm welcome and yes I am very passionate about it because before all this technology with compounds etc there was just stick and string. I love shooting my compound don't get me wrong but I just about like shooting my recurve a bit more. The challenge and the history behind it all makes me want it that much more guys so thanks for all the kind words and encouragement!!!
