My whole arrow was around 540 grns.  I was shooting 2117 with a 125 grn broadhead.  I don't know why but I put that combo in 3-4 different bows from the soveriegn mace 43#, bear super kodiak 46#, martin hunter 57# and then a martin vision at 53# and they all shot good.

Here's my wife with her first 2 longbow kills. Both of these bows drew in the 40's at her draw lenth and she had no problems putting them to work. Her current bow is a MOAB that is about 44# at her draw length and I can't wait to see what she does with it this year!!!

Thank you Ron, she had used a compound on deer since she was 12. I never pressured her to switch to trad bows but 2 years ago she was ready for a change and told me she wanted to give up the wheels and try a longbow. We shot together all spring and summer and when she killed that first doe she was hooked, and her compound was sold. She's also going to be building her own arrows for this season. I have her a dozen poplar shafts and some turkey feathers from a turkey I killed coming from Magnus for her to use on them. I feel very fortunate that this is something we both share and do together. I really couldn't ask for a better hunting partner.

Looks like I'll be shooting around 40 lbs. this year at my draw and have no doubts in the bows ability. Keep them close and keep your b-heads super sharp!!!!

Wow! I forgot all about this thread. Didn't even know it was still around. Great pics and still inspires me to get it done. My Harrelson longbow will be about 43 - 45 lbs when I go out this year. Can hardly wait for the season to arrive!   :D
