Thanks for posting the photo KAT. That bear was my first harvest with trad gear. Custom ZIPPER ILF 17" riser, Dryad Static recurve limbs, 45# @ 29" Full length Carbon Express weight forward arrow, 100 gr insert and an ACE standard 2 blade. Total arrow was 600 gr. Shot was at 7 steps.....in one side and out the other.    :thumbsup:  Let me add this.....the hunt was with Bear Quest #9 right here from this sight, a great time in Quebec!!

Know what you mean about draw length there are lots of way to cheat here,,,

My last bow built came up 8-10lbs to light than I asked for now 42@ 27"
My friend got caught taking deer with a cross bows but he was posting he was using a longbow that a little low.

I did take a nice caribou today with EagleWing frontier she 45# at my draw length lots power with that trad type bow I don't know what's Steve puts in them limbs but I could not find arrow with look Friday,Atqasuk Ak sure has caribou walked out water plant door there he was 20 feet away from the back door.No data space on wifi to post pictures,

we found the old bear wood arrow and Ace broad head about 300 yards away must skipped off the pond behind the caribou .Ace heads are  tuff ones for sure arrow seems ok .

when I get home around 28 Aug post pictures  wifi here not good cannot even down load facebook pictures,I try email steve from EagleWing from work computer maybe he can post not sure if that will work small 200 person village here life in Alaskan Bush,nice bull still in his hairy horns the Eskimo cut off the soft horn tips and made great tundra soup with tundra Vegs from robbing lemmons mice nest very cool how Eskimos get Vegs here from the winter lemmon mice nest full of pre winter food for these little cool mice that turn white in winter only mice that turns white in winter they taste great bolded in the soup also,

when you shoot caribou up here the Elders take their share first I got about 10 pounds meat from ham its their land.

My '14 WY pronghorn at Spearhead Ranch. Used my Hummingbird Kingfisher TD longbow, 44# @28 (my draw length), an Easton autumn orange 2117 tipped with a Bear greenie sans bleeder. Didn't go far. That's my blind, background left.

Ooops.  I forgot that I posted here 3 1/2 years ago.  At least my memory still works for the details of my bow/arrow/penetration.  I think I can remember details of a hunt better than remembering what my wife just asked me to do.

Doug...I've had that picture/specs saved for awhile  in a file that I have on bow weight...been a confidence builder for a long time and I'm elk hunting with a similar rig this fall    :thumbsup:
