If I wasn't having difficulty with my computer I would post a photo of my buck I shot with a 40# recurve and Bear razor head. It was obviously adequate as the buck was dead within 74 yards.
For me, I think there is a point to shoot heavier.
I just put in for a moose, elk and sheep hunting permit. I intend to shoot the same bow all hunting season. Besides the possibility of hunting one of these animals I am already planning on bear and whitetail.
I want my shooting to be as consistent, as dialed in if you will as I can get it. So no jumping between lighter and heavier bows, different weight arrows, etc. Same bow, same arrow for everything. Seems to make sense to me. It is one more thing I can control, even if it just a confidence thing.
