Got my second deer of the year today. A 8 point buck shot at 7 yards and a 130 yard recovery. Taped at 167# That arrow is the second kill and is resharped and clean for its next adventure.

Still have an unused tag. Havnt see much lately so decided to find a decent track in the snow and find out where it leads me. Nice way to spend the afternoon in the woods if you are not shooting deer.

The individual mind can be quite perplexing. Even if this thread reaches 100 pages of validation, the thought of many, to accept as a personally viable draw weight will never be considered.

That old man bow is deadly!
I can afford to shoot most any bow I like.  And I like Primal Tech bows.

Arrow is a .600 spine Easton Axis carbon shaft. Total arrow weight is just under 500gr. The broadhead was a 150gr German Kinetic XL.

Over the slump I see. Congrats!
It's really simple. Just don't take those borderline shots. Tomorrow is another day.

hello wannabe1...i was going threw this post a seen a reply you made...now i am not trying to change your mind at all...but if look at the oregon regs on page 18 or 20 there is a spot called (species specific weapons restrictions) and the bow weight has been changed to min of 40# for elk...just trying to keep you in the elk game with out blowing the shoulder out...goog luck...
Hot Dang, that is some awesome news! There is a place not far from me owned by the Stark Industries forestry company, that has a small herd I've run into a couple times in the past. They only allow bowhunting on their property so, I might look more into elk now.
